Policy on Agents and Independent Consultants Every decision I make as the counselor at International School of Donnguan is guided by a single question: What is best for the student? In order to ensure transparency and ethical practices regarding the university application and admissions process, I adhere to a code of conduct known as the Statement of Principles of Good Practice (SPGP), approved by the National Association for College Admissions Counseling (NACAC). This policy requires that you inform me if you are considering the employment of – or have already hired – a professional agent or independent consultant to assist your family with this complex process. My knowledge of such a relationship allows me, in conjunction with the agent/consultant, to support your student with the highest quality of service: • Clear expectations and appropriate division of tasks between offices • Proper handling of official school transcripts, letters of recommendation, and other important documents • Assurance of correct completion of application forms • Effective communication between the family and both offices • Unified decision-making for the benefit of the student In the unlikely event that I become aware of any improprieties that result in a clear violation of the SPGP, it is my duty to report these violations to the prospective institution(s) to which the student has applied, to NACAC and their overseas affiliate IACAC, and any relevant accrediting bodies.
