Information Sheet for the Promethean
Interactive Whiteboards
This classroom is equipped with an interactive
whiteboard. Please observe the following
guidelines and policies:
Do not use markers of any kind on the
whiteboard.
Take care not to misplace the whiteboard remote
or the two styluses. The remote should be stored
in the magnetic basket by the board. The pen
should be stored in the attached pen holders
Notify the Technology Resource Teacher or the
Technology Assistant if you have any questions,
concerns or problems with the board.
Substitute log ons – refer to the sheet given
to you at the Substitute Orientation

Viewing the morning news.
 Be sure the VCR is on and set to channel 03
 Use the Promethean remote to turn the
grey projector lamp on (press green power
button once) Status light will turn green but
it takes 30 seconds for the lamp to become
completely bright.
 Press the Source button on the remote.
(bottom left).
 To view from AV machine, select VGA 1, To
view the News Show or VHS tape, select
Composite Video (VCR)
 Use the Volume buttons on the remote to
adjust the sound.
 At the end of the news, turn the lamp off
by pressing the power button twice.

Displaying from the AV computer.
 Log on to the network.
 Use the Sanyo remote to turn the projector
lamp on and set to Computer 1 input.
 Open the desired application or file on the
computer.
Using ACTIVInspire
 Teachers: Launch from the desktop
 Subs: Launch from the Start menu
VHS Player to view a VHS tape:
 Use Sanyo remote to turn lamp of
whiteboard projector on and set to Video
input.
 Turn VHS on and insert tape.
 Sanyo remote adjusts sound.
Safari Montage video:
 Use Sanyo remote to turn lamp of
whiteboard projector on and set to
Computer 1 input.
 Sanyo remote also adjusts sound (make sure
sound is not muted on the computer)
 Unplug headphones from the front jack of
the computer.
 Log on to the network on the AV computer.

Launch Safari Montage
Log on to Safari Montage.
Locate the playlist you wish to play.
Play
Viewing a DVD:
 Use Sanyo remote to turn lamp of
whiteboard projector on and set to
Computer 1 input.
 Sanyo remote also adjusts sound (make sure
sound is not muted on the computer)
 Unplug headphones from the front jack of
the computer.
 Log on to the network on the AV computer.
 Insert DVD in Tray
 Double Click MY COMPUTER, Right Click the
DVD Drive, Play With Power DVD........
Or …….Click START > PROGRAMS >
ACCESSORIES & UTILITIES > Power DVD
 Expand window to full size
 Click the black triangle play button
