For a guaranteed success or when the chosen FSC Forest Management system is complex or owing to
the presence of sensitive elements, Bureau Veritas Certification advises to carry out a preparation preaudit. This stage is not compulsory in that case but it allows to limit the risks of failure and extra
expenses.
Remarks:

The preparation and follow-up days includes:
 Time for preparing audits,
 Time for reviewing reports,
 The stakeholders consultation and the time to answer them (based on a “normal” situation),
 Time to annual and technical follow-up,
 Time to answer to the FSC trademark use validation requests, up to 5 requests per year.
Beyond these, requests will be invoiced at 15,25 € (without tax) by request.

Concerning the certification audits, pre-audit and initial audit phases are independent. This system
set up by Bureau Veritas Certification allows the applicant forest entity to become gradually involved
in the different stages of the certification process (pre-audit, initial audit and granting of the
certificate) and, if wished, postpone them.

A complementary audit may be carried out following the initial audit in order to obtain the certificate.
Such an audit is exceptional and will be justified by the auditor’s conclusions during the initial audit.
The cost of a complementary audit varies in principle from 30 to 70 % of the cost of the initial audit
without exceeding it in any case.

Cost of additional time spent on managing this affaire will be charged to the company, for example:
 management of extra stakeholder complaints/comments: complaints from stakeholder to
FSC/ASI, stakeholder complaints/comments external to the company’s evaluation against the
FSC FM requirements, conflicts that threaten the credibility of the FSC certificate,
supplementary time used for stakeholder comments management (in addition to the 10 man
days expected), etc;
 management of exceptional event;
 important quantitative and/or qualitative changes in the auditing conditions: company’s
organisation/structure, scope of the certificate (e.g. partial certification, excision of areas, new
activities that may be controversial, etc ), etc

Special dispositions
1 - The contractual conditions are defined in the attached SF05 documents as well as in the description of the certification
process (GP01).
2 - The FSC certificates are valid for a maximum period of 5 years.
3 - This proposal is established on the basis of elements supplied in the document "Request For Quotation" questionnaire, it is
conditioned by the accuracy of the information thus given by the forest entity.
4 - All the above prices are given exclusive of tax and annual price revision. This offer is valid for 3 months.
5 - The above prices include an estimate of the auditors’ personal expenses (travelling, meals, accommodation) payable by the
client. Those expenses will be inclusively invoiced within the cost limit defined in the above charts.

5 - The above prices do not include expenses (travelling, meals, accommodation) payable by the client. Those expenses will be
invoiced in view of the receipts after agreement of the parties.
6 - Administrative fee will be invoiced on reception of the signed contract and the audits 10 days after the end of the audit,
payable within 30 days.
