Lexar Mobile Manager App Overview
Description
Lexar ® makes it easy to offload or transfer files with its comprehensive line of iOScompatible products.
Quickly and easily move or copy photos, music, videos, and files to or between your
iPhone ®, iPad ® and computer.
Designed for use with Lexar iOS-compatible products, the Lexar Mobile Manager app
provides seamless file management for your busy life on the go.
The Lexar Mobile Manager app is available for free download from the App Store ®.
Features
Save space by offloading files from your device. Make room to store more of the
content you crave.
Directly access media files. Listen to your favorite songs and watch videos right from
your iOS-compatible flash drive or reader.
Easily transfer and share files between devices. Move or copy photos, videos, music,
and other files to or between your iPhone, iPad and computer.
Automatically and securely backup your photos and contacts. Lexar iOS-compatible
products work with the Lexar Mobile Manager app, which allows you to backup files
when connected.

Setting up the Lexar Mobile Manager App
Connect your Lexar iOS-compatible product
and download the Lexar Mobile Manager app.
After plugging in your Lexar iOS-compatible
product, a screen will appear asking you to
download the Lexar Mobile Manager app.
Tap on ‘App Store’ to download the App.
Download the app manually
If you want to download the app before
connecting your Lexar iOS-compatible
product, search for “Lexar Mobile
Manager” in the App Store.
Allow Mobile Manager to connect to
your drive
When you connect your Lexar iOS-compatible
product, you will be prompted to allow Mobile
Manager to access it.

Home Screen
Home Screen Icons
When using an iPhone, the home screen will be split over two screens and you can navigate
between them by swiping left or right. On an iPad, all icons will fit on the home screen.
External Storage
Displays the storage status of your
connected Lexar iOS-compatible product.
Tap the External Storage icon at the top
or within the menu to access, manage,
and transfer data stored on your connected
Lexar iOS-compatible product.
In-App Storage
In-App Storage is the partition that the app
uses of the device storage. This displays the
storage status of your iOS device storage
within the app.
Tap the In-App Storage icon at the top or
within the menu to access, manage, and
transfer data stored on the In App Storage
partition within your iOS memory.
Settings
Tap to access Options, Help, and Auto Backup settings. Link and unlink
your Dropbox ™ account from the Settings screen.
Refresh
Tap to refresh the In-App Storage and External Storage memory usage.
Note: External Storage usage will refresh every time a Lexar iOScompatible product is plugged into your device.

Options
Show locked files
Show or hide locked folders or files when
browsing In-App Storage or External Storage.
Rename file extension
Allows an edit to the file extension when
renaming a file. (Note: Not available for
External Storage).
App lock
Set a 4-digit-passcode for the app.
You will be prompted to enter this passcode
every time the app launches. (Note: There is
no password retrieval option if lost!)
Touch ID
Use Touch ID to unlock App Lock. (Note:
Only available with touch ID enabled devices)
Clear Cache Data
Delete temporary files used by the app.
Help
Report Bug: Send bug information
about the app. This opens an email
to [email protected].
Auto Backup
Automatic backup for your Contacts
or Photos. Backup files will be created
automatically every time a Lexar
iOS-compatible product is connected.
Cloud
Link or unlink to your Dropbox account.

Data Access for Lexar Mobile Manager
You will be prompted to grant the
Lexar Mobile Manager app access to
information on your device before you
can see it in the app.
You can do this manually through your
iPhone or iPad Settings.
Look for Mobile Manager in the list.
Enable access to Contacts, Calendar,
and Photos in order to use those features
in the app.

External Storage
Plug in your Lexar iOS-compatible product
to enable External Storage functionality.
External Storage lets you manage files and
transfer data between your device and your
connected Lexar iOS-compatible product.
Sort Files
Add Files
Tap ‘Select’ to Manage and Transfer Files
Options to Share, Copy, and Move files.
Tap ‘More’ to access Delete and Lock
features. (Note: Zip function is not
supported in this version of the software.)

In-App Storage
In-App Storage is the memory partition on
your device used by the app.
Store files here to access them without plugging
in your Lexar iOS-compatible product.
In the lower bar, you’ll see options for “Sort”
and “Add,” which, when tapped, will expand to
provide you with more detail.

Tap ‘Select’ to Manage and Transfer Files
In ‘Select’ mode, you’ll have options to
Share, Copy, and Move files. Tap ‘More’
to access Delete, Lock, and Rename
functionality. (Note: Zip function is not
supported in this version of the software).

Select File(s) to manage
Tap ‘Select’ at the top and choose the
files to manage.
Tap on the circle(s) next to the file(s)
to select.
Choose an option from the bottom menu.
Tap on ‘More’ to expand further options.
(Note: Zip function is not supported in
this version of the software).

Share Files
Select the file(s) you want to share.
Tap ‘Share’ and choose one of the
device’s available share options.
Copy or Move Files
Select the file(s) you want to copy or
move from any of the storage locations.
Tap ‘Copy’ or ‘Move,’ then select the
storage location you want to move it to.
Tap ‘Copy Here’/ ‘Move Here’ to copy/
move the file(s) to this location.
You can create a New Folder within the
selected location to move the file(s) to
that folder, too.

Manage Files
Delete a Single File
To delete individual files, swipe from
right to left on the file.
Then tap the red Recycle Bin icon.
Alternatively, open the file, and select
‘Delete’ from the bottom menu.
Delete Multiple Files
To delete multiple files, select the files
you need to delete.
At the bottom menu, tap ‘More,’
then select ‘Delete.’

Lock Files
Select the file(s) you want to
lock from the In-App Storage
or External Storage locations.
Tap ‘More,’ then select ‘Lock.’
A screen will appear asking for a
password to apply to the file(s).
Enter and confirm the password,
and then tap the checkmark.
The extension of the file(s)
will change to ‘locked.’
Unlock Files
Tap on the file you want to unlock
and you will be prompted to enter
the password to unlock it. Enter the
password and tap the checkmark.

Rename Files
Select the file you want to
rename from In-App Storage.
Tap ‘More,’ then select ‘Rename.’
Enter the new name for the file and
tap the checkmark to confirm the new
file name.
Note: Only files in In-App Storage can
be renamed via the app.
To rename files in External Storage,
connect your Lexar iOS-compatible
product to a computer and use your
computer to rename the files.
(Note: The Zip file function is not available
through this version of the app.)

Create a New Folder
You can add a new folder to In-App
Storage or External Storage.
Go to the location where you want to
add a new folder.
Tap ‘Add’ at the bottom and select
‘New Folder.’
Enter the new folder name into the
screen and tap the checkmark when
complete.
The folder will appear within the
current storage location.

Create a New Text File
You can create a new text file in In-App
Storage or External Storage.
Go to the location where you want to
add the new text file.
Tap ‘Add’ at the bottom and select
‘New Text File.’
Type your text into the file that opens.
Tap on the file name to change it.
Tap the checkmark to save the text file.
The new text file will appear within
the current storage location.

Import Photos from Camera Roll
Within In-App Storage or External Storage,
you can import photos and videos from
the Camera Roll.
Navigate to the location where you want
to save your imported photo or video file.
Tap ‘Add’ at the bottom and select ‘From
Camera Roll.’
Choose the folder that contains the
photo(s) or videos(s) file you want
to import.
Tap on the photo(s) or video(s) to
import, or choose ‘All’ at the bottom.
Select ‘OK’ to import the file(s).
The imported files will appear within
the current storage location.

Voice Recording
The Audio Recorder lets you create and save voice memos to In-App Storage
or External Storage.
Launch Recorder from the Home screen or from
the Add -> Voice Recording menu for In-App
Storage or External Storage
Recorder Options
Tap to start recording.
Tap to pause or stop.
Play existing recording.
Discard current recording.
Tap on the file name to rename it.
Tap on ‘Save’ to save the recording. The
recording is now saved in In-App Storage.
To save to External Storage, tap on ‘List,’
then tap on ‘Select,’ select the recording,
and you can copy or move the file from
the recorder to External Storage.

Music
Access and manage audio stored on In-App Storage, External Storage,
or your iOS device’s iTunes store.
Playback Options
Repeat play list. Double tap
to repeat individual song.
Shuffle
Play/Pause playback
Previous/Next song
Sort the songs by ‘Songs,’ ‘Artists,’
or ‘Albums.’
Music files saved in In-App Storage
or in External Storage can be managed
(Shared, Copied, Moved, Deleted,
and Locked) like any other files.
Select the music files you want
to manage and choose the option
from the bottom menu.

Music
To access music on External Storage or
iTunes, tap the arrow under In-App Storage
to expand the menu.
Music playing from In-App Storage or iTunes
will continue to play in the background if
you navigate away from the music function.
You can stop the song from playing by
tapping on the red shortcut on the bottom
of the screen.
Music files in My iTunes Music can be played,
but cannot be shared, copied, or moved, as
they are protected by DRM (Digital Rights
Management).

Photo
Access and manage photos stored on In-App Storage, External Storage,
or your iOS device’s Camera Roll.
To navigate to photos on your In-App
Storage or External Storage, tap the
arrow under Camera Roll to expand
the menu.
Tap on the folder containing photos
to view photos in that folder.
Open an individual photo for
options to Share, Copy, Move,
or Delete that Photo
Or
Tap ‘Select,’ and then tap on the
photo(s) you would like to manage.
You can Share, Copy, and Sync
your photo(s) to In-App Storage
or External Storage.

Video
Access and manage videos stored on In-App Storage, External Storage,
or your iOS device’s Camera Roll as well as Podcasts on iTunes.
Note: Movies or podcasts downloaded or purchased and stored in iTunes are
protected by DRM (Digital Rights Management) and cannot be viewed via the
Lexar Mobile Manager app.
Playback Options
Repeat play list. Double tap
to repeat individual video.
Shuffle

Previous/Next video
Video files saved in In-App Storage
or External Storage can be managed
(Shared, Copied, Moved, Deleted,
and Locked) like other files.

Video
Select the video files you want to
manage and choose the option
from the bottom menu.
To access videos on External Storage,
the Camera Roll, or Podcasts on iTunes
tap the arrow under In-App Storage to
expand the menu.

Cloud - Dropbox
Access, manage, transfer, and back up files between Dropbox and your
iOS Device.
In the Settings Screen, tap on
Link/Unlink from Dropbox.
Sign-in to your Dropbox account to
enable Dropbox file management.
Tap ‘Add’ to upload to Dropbox.
Similar to how you manage files in
In-App Storage and External Storage,
you can also manage your Dropbox files.
Tap ‘Select’ for options to Share, Copy,
Delete, Move, and Rename files.

Backup and Restore
Tap the Contact Backup or Photo Backup icon on
the app home screen and tap ‘Backup’ or ‘Restore.’
This creates a backup on the External
Storage. The backup name is the date
and time of the latest backup and is
located in the backup folder.
There are separate backup folders
for Contacts and Photos.
Backup
Tap on the circle(s) next to the file(s)
to select.
Restore
Restores the information from the
latest backup file.
You can select to restore all
files, or selected files.
