Rival and Revel Silo: Industrial Design Firm Makes
Must Have Golf Accessory
SILO noun si·lo \ˈsī(ˌ)lō\
1: a tower that is used to store food (such as grain or grass) for farm animals
2: an underground structure that is used for storing and firing a missile
3: a totally awesome golf accessory you can use to store and carry golf clubs
Okay, so the last definition might have been more us than MerriamWebster, but it’s true. The
guys over at Rival and Revel have a genius product and its called the SILO. The Silo is an elegantly simple, utilitarian piece of equipment. It is just what you would expect
from team of industrial designers, mechanical engineers, and graphic artists. It is this type of
expertise that Rival and Revel brings to their product design that makes Silo stand out. data:text/html;charset=utf8,%3Cdiv%20class%3D%22singletitle%22%20style%3D%22border%3A%200px%3B%20margin%3A%200px%3B%20padding%3…

What is the Silo exactly?
The Silo is a 0.4 pound, 53/4″ long, 21/3″ diameter cylinder that has storage slots for six
golf clubs. The slots are designed to hold most standard shaft sizes and clubs pop into place
fairly easily without excessive tension or wear on the club shaft itself. Rival and Revel constructed the Silo out of some technically sophisticated plastic and rubber
polymers which make it incredibly resilient not only in regards to material longevity, but also to
temperature variations. Perfect for a tool that will likely spend a lot of time in your trunk and
endure outdoor climate changes on the golf course. The Silo is topped off with a small, but
artful, magnetic ball marker.
Why do I need the Silo?
Yes, that’s right, need. The Silo is a fantastic multifunctional tool. As the MerriamWebster
definition suggests, silos are for storage, and that is just one way to use Rival and Revel’s
Silo. If you have extra clubs laying around from previous upgrades, or perhaps you like to
switch clubs in and out of your bag depending on when and where you are playing, then the
Silo will keep the clubs out of your bag wellorganized. The most commonsensical way to use the Silo is for range practice. Going to the range but
just want to work on your long irons? Leave the big bag at home, snap the few clubs you want
to work with into the Silo, and you are on your way. Rival and Revel gets four thumbs up just
for devising a way to make range time quick and easy.
Cart riders and wedgeleavebehinders should rejoice in the presence of the Silo. Organize
your approach clubs into an easy to carry bundle. The Silo is slim enough to fit into a large
divider in a golf bag. Once you roll up to the green, take out the Silo holding your putter and a
few wedges. You will never be caught away from your bag thinking “I should have grabbed
my 58 degree instead”. When it comes time to tap in the putt, you can place your wedge back
into the Silo and grab your putter. If you arrange the clubs in the Silo correctly it will stand up on

its own keeping the grips dry. Of course the “never leave your wedge behind again” marketing
ploy only works if you can remember to pick up the Silo full of clubs on your way off the green.
**Note to Self**
Rival and Revel also envisions walkers (as in golfers who walk the course, not the AMC
zombies) using the Silo for abaggage free round. Sure you can carry fourteen clubs in your
bag, but I imagine most of us could easily narrow our set down to a trusty six for a quick and
weightfree nine holes. We also think that the Silo could make for an added layer ofsafety when transporting your
clubs by land, air, or Ship Sticks. Because each club fits into the Silo just beneath the hosel,
the most fragile portion of your club is protected. Club heads all point away from one another in
the Silo, so there is little worry of heads banging against one another causing dents and dings.
How do I get the Silo?
This miraculous product doesn’t require a special sacrifice to the golf gods to land at your door.
You can purchase the Silo for $25.00 at RivalandRevel.com.
In addition to the Silo, Rival and Revel also sells other golf accessories that are worth looking
at and our company insider tells us they’ve got more golf gadgetry in mind to make life easier
on the links, so stay tuned!
