Warm up – Throw the ball
Introduction
The exercise can be used as a simple warm up or it could be used to develop knowledge of
dramatic form.
Throw the ball:

Stand as a whole class in a circle

Throw a ball around and across the circle

Make eye contact with the person before you throw it

Do not drop the ball.

If you drop the ball sit down or sit out.
Discussion: Does making eye contact help you to catch the ball? How does it help or not?
Throw the invisible ball:

Throw an invisible ball around the circle.

Again make eye contact with the person before you throw.

The aim of the exercise is to create and understand realism.
Discussion: Are you throwing the ball as realistically as possible?
