Learner Resource 1 Warm up – Throw the ball Introduction The exercise can be used as a simple warm up or it could be used to develop knowledge of dramatic form. Throw the ball: Stand as a whole class in a circle Throw a ball around and across the circle Make eye contact with the person before you throw it Do not drop the ball. If you drop the ball sit down or sit out. Discussion: Does making eye contact help you to catch the ball? How does it help or not? Throw the invisible ball: Throw an invisible ball around the circle. Again make eye contact with the person before you throw. The aim of the exercise is to create and understand realism. Discussion: Are you throwing the ball as realistically as possible?
