The Robertson Scholars Express (RSX) facilitates
collaboration between Duke University and UNC
Chapel Hill. Though they are bitter rivals on
the court, the Blue Devils and the Tar Heels can
learn a lot from each other thanks to the unique
educational, cultural, and social opportunities
available to members of both campus
communities.
While free for Robertson Scholars and GoPass
holders from Duke University and UNC Chapel
Hill, the one-way fare for the general public is $3.
Riders without GoPasses may purchase a Regional
Express Day Pass for $6 or a 31-Day Regional
Express pass for $102. Both passes are good for
unlimited rides on the day or dates designated.
Riders who are 65 or older, youth between 6 and
18, and passengers with disabilities may qualify for
discounted fares with valid identification.
The RSX departs from and arrives at the Duke
Chapel bus stop. At UNC, buses depart from and
arrive at the Morehead Planetarium parking lot.
No stops are made between Duke and UNC, and
each one-way trip is scheduled to last 30 minutes,
including a two-minute turnaround at both stops.
The RSX service runs when Duke and UNC classes
are in session. Reduced service is provided on
designated school days, as well as days when
only one school has classes in session. No service
is offered during university recesses and select
holidays.

Hourly service is provided 7:30am to 11pm (unless otherwise specified), with the bus
departing from UNC on the :00 hour and from Duke on the :30 hour. As such, the first bus
at Duke departs at 7:30am and continues hourly until 10:30pm.
