Gets Two New Officers
New Bedford Police would like to welcome two new officers to
serve our great city. David A. Rose Jr. and Nathan L.
Pimentel. Both officers were officially sworn in yesterday
afternoon by Mayor Jonathan Mitchell.
David A. Rose, Jr.
Officer Rose is a 2011 graduate of NBHS and he also attended
Bridgewater State University for Criminal Justice since 2011.
He is also a member of the Army National Guard since 2012
where he completed a military police reserve academy and was
involved in the Massachusetts Army National Guard Counter Drug
Abuse Program.
Officer Rose stated in his application that he strives to feel
connected and serve his community and feels that being a
police officer will be the best way to accomplish his goal.
Nathan L. Pimentel
Officer Pimentel is a 2003 New Bedford Voke graduate and he
also attended classes at Bristol Community College. Officer
Pimentel has served our country from 2003 until 2008 in the
Marines as a combat medic. He was deployed as part of the
Ground Combat Element to Iraqi during Operations Iraqi Freedom
and Enduring Freedom where he received several medals. In
2014, He became a corrections officer for the Barnstable
County Sheriff’s Office.
Officer Pimentel is married and has 3 children and he is eager
to serve the community where he grew up and is now raising his
family.
