MAC Summer Camp Weekly Themes 2017
Week 1: Welcome Week! June 19 - June 23
Help us kick off a spectacular summer with games, team building, new friends and fun as we explore the many activities available to Kids at the MAC!
We’ll also have fun in the sun at our welcome Luau to get your camper ready for an amazing summer!
Week 2: Where the Wild Things Are June 26 - June 30
Join us as we learn about our animal friends from all around the world! Whether they slither or swim, have beaks or claws, they’re sure to capture our
attention as we learn about their homes and habits.
Week 3: Game Shows Galore! July 5 – July 7 (no camp Mon/Tues)
Every camper will find their spotlight this week as we re-create our favorite game shows as seen on TV! We’ll add a few twists to create new games and
have a week that is full of friendly (and funny) competition!
Week 4: Party in the USA Holiday Bash July 10- July 14
Mixed up holidays are our specialties this week, as we scramble traditions and have silly celebrations, MAC style! We’ll find out what games Santa’s
reindeer play in the summer, and discover colored eggs that the Leprechauns hid from the Easter Bunny. We’ll also celebrate Independence Day with
some All-American games!
Week 5: Wacky Olympics! July 17- July 21
Join us as we compete for our teams at the MAC Olympics! From the lighting of the torch to the closing ceremonies, we’ll have a variety of events that
will encourage each camper as we experience teamwork through fun and exciting activities. Our young Olympians will have a chance to learn and
practice the skill of log rolling with our very own MAC logs! Campers can try and beat the lifeguard’s record time!
Week 6: Pure Michigan July 24- July 28
This week we will explore what makes Michigan special! We’ll sample locally grown treats, have a visit from a few furry friends that live-in MI and learn
about all the very exciting places right here in our home state!
Week 7: Having a BALL at MAC Camp! July 31- August 4
Take me out to the ball game! This week will be even more jam-packed with sports than usual. We will have visits from our in-house personal trainers
and will learn unique games that your camper may not have tried before!
Week 8: Campers Got Talent?! August 7 – August 11
Many of our campers have talents that they’d love to share! Anything goes- from telling jokes or stories, gymnastics, dancing and acting, the talents are
endless! We’ll work together, practice our skills, and put on a show! Don’t worry, if you’re more of a behind the scenes camper, you can be part of our
audience or cheering section, or even help organize and direct the talents!
Week 9: Pirate Week! August 14- August 18
This week our young swashbucklers will experience a pirate’s life as they follow treasure maps, dig for buried treasure, and sail their ships on the high
seas! We’ll dress like pirates, “walk the plank,” and even cannonball some water balloons as we discover that there’s a little bit of pirate in each of us!
Let’s see which team can build the most sea worthy boat out of cardboard and sail across the mighty sea (lap pool).
Week 10: Hometown Hullabaloo August 21 - August 25
There is so much to explore around our own back yards! We’ll take an adventure to a few exciting places in the greater Lansing area and have special
visits from some hometown heroes here at the MAC!
Week 11: Endless Summer August 28 – September 1
Never say good-bye to summer! We will have an end of summer cookout at the park with field games and activities for all our new camp friends to
celebrate another incredible summer!
