Code of Conduct
Thanks for being part of our EWGA GTA. To ensure the best possible experience for all EWGA GTA members
and guests, we have established some basic guidelines for participation.
The EWGA GTA takes great pride in the quality of its members and guests, host facilities and broad community
involvement at each Event. In order to continue making EWGA GTA Events enjoyable for everyone, all
members and their guests are required to adhere to the EWGA GTA Code of Conduct.
The EWGA GTA Code of Conduct must be followed by all members and guests, on and off the golf course,
throughout the entire season.
Violations of the Code of Conduct:







Unsportsmanlike conduct, including abusive language, club throwing, disrespect to volunteers, officials
or fellow-players, or abuse of golf course property.
Consumption of alcoholic beverages during competition (Match Play and Championship)
Possession of any illegal substances.
Failure to adhere to the dress code policy while on host facility property.
Any vandalism at a host property, abusive behaviour to host family or their property.
Possession and/or distribution of defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal
materials.
Any other conduct unbecoming of an EWGA GTA member.
Code of Conduct Penalties:




Disqualification from competition
Membership may be withdrawn at any time
Member may be required to complete a level 1 rules education with Golf Canada
Suspension from future membership access for a period of up to 2 years
The EWGA GTA Board and Tournament Committee will investigate any complaints of conduct unbecoming and
may assess any or all of the preceding penalties based on the severity and frequency of the violation(s).
Members are encouraged to report any Code of Conduct violations to a member of the EWGA GTA Board,
Tournament Committee, or Event Coordinator, as may be appropriate. The member subject of the complaint
will receive written notice of the complaint and the Board/Committee/Organizer will investigate the complaint
immediately and objectively, speaking with the complainant, subject member and any additional witnesses. A
record will be kept of the complaint and the ensuing investigation. The Board will determine if a withdrawal or
suspension of membership is due (and the length of the suspension) after reviewing all submitted materials,
including an EWGA GTA Tournament Official’s or Event Coordinator’s account of the violation. Any member
who is under suspension will not be eligible to participate in future events until the suspension period has
expired.
