Jerry’s Statement
There is no greater satisfaction in this world than to be able to do what you enjoy most for a living.
We have a responsibility to ourselves, our loved ones, and our trade to always be open and willing to
learn the most we can to better ourselves, and to protect ourselves while performing the tasks at hand.
Safety must always be foremost in our minds so that we may be without regret and can yet enjoy
another moment of life.

Edward G. Wright, President Game of Logging
Following a one year hiatus, and thanks to a new corporate sponsor,
DOLMAR Power Equipment, the Game of Logging National Finals
Competition came back in fine fashion. The competition was held at
the Ohio Forestry Association (OFA) Paul Bunyan Show in Cambridge,
Ohio October 2nd and 3rd.
Game of Logging (GOL) is a competitive response training system
that is designed to improve productivity and safety in the process of
felling trees. The National Finals competition is reached by those
competitors who have won in their respective divisions in regional
contests. The competition features eight events designed to evaluate
planning, speed, accuracy, technique, skill and safety in the felling process.

decked out in their forest green and international orange DOLMAR rain jackets - which proved to be absolutely

2010 GOL
Nationals!
Foul weather did not dampen the competition nor the crowd interest. This year’s format was slightly different.
While the events remained the same, the staging of the finesse portions were held at the DOLMAR booth, thus
allowing the spectators to enjoy a close view of precision events such as the bore cut, big stump notching,
bucking and springpole release. When it came time for the limbing and felling, the venue moved to the track in
front of the grandstand.
The Collegiate division performed on Saturday with five students from The University of Wisconsin - River
Falls, Mid State Technical College and Paul Smith’s College participating.
