Dear Sir
Supply and install a new 1No, HV radial feeder between the existing ENWL Heasanford
Network S/S and the existing private B substation at Aircelle B5.
Further to your recent enquiry regarding the above work I am pleased to submit our proposals and
quotation for your consideration.
It is proposed to undertake the following work:
Civil Works.
1/
Provide the services of one of our Approved Civil Contractors to carry out the following?
Highway Works.
a) Apply for the required (Section 50) opening notice.
b) Excavate within the footpath on “Bancroft Road” (assumed length 292Mtrs) of HV cable
trench.
c) Excavate within the carriageway on “Bancroft Road” (assumed length 12Mtrs) of HV
cable trench.
d) Excavate within the grass verge on Bancroft Road” (assumed length 5Mtrs) of HV cable
trench.
e) Reinstate on completion of all cabling works.
Onsite Works.

Excavate within the grass verge (assumed length 266Mtrs) of HV cable trench.

Reinstate on completion of all cabling works.

Intermediate Joint-Bay.
a) Excavate within the “Bancroft Road” footpath for a 1No HV joint-bay.
b) Excavate within the “Grass Verge” on the Michelin site for a 1No HV joint-bay.
c) Reinstate on completion of all cabling works.
HV Cable Ducts.
a) Supply and install (assumed length 656mtrs) of Red HV cable ducts to ENWL codes of
practice.
HV Installation.
1/
Provide the services of one of our Senior Authorised Engineers to take control of the private
HV network and issue safety documents to the ENWL staff.
2/
Identify spike and cut the HV cable between the existing E Substation No5, Michelin site and
1No, Substation, Aircelle site, carry out the HV disconnect and apply SEC’s (Short End
Capps).
3/
Supply and install (assumed length 670Mtrs) of HV cable within HV cable ducts between the
Heasanford Network Substation and the private Substation at Aircelle site and terminate both
ends.
4/
Commission the proposed Electricity North West (Construction and Maintenance) Ltd
installation works.
Electricity North West (Construction and Maintenance) Ltd will be pleased to undertake the
above works for (Redacted) nett plus VAT at the appropriate rate on 100% of the contract sum,
inclusive of the necessary termination and jointing.
Please note the above cost includes a provisional sum of (Redacted) as per tender documents.
This quotation, which is subject to the attached Electricity North West (Construction and
Maintenance) Ltd General Conditions of Contract, is available for acceptance for 30 days from the
above date. Your acceptance of this quotation will be subject to satisfactory financial and contractual
arrangements being concluded with Electricity North West (Construction and Maintenance) Ltd and
it assumes your agreement to the terms and conditions set down in our conditions of contract.
The price payable by the Customer in respect of the execution of the Works (the “Contract Price”)
as stated in the quotation shall be payable in a lump sum prior to any equipment/site works being
delivered. One receipt of your instruction to proceed we will issue our invoice to enable payment to
be made prior to starting on site.
Please note that due to the volatility of the metals markets the price quoted is subject to
adjustment to the LME (London Metals Exchange) settlement price for copper and aluminium
ruling on the day following receipt of an instruction to proceed.
In the compilation of this quotation the following assumptions have been made.
1/
Cable lengths for the HV have been assumed and stated above. Should these be different
at the time of construction then adjustment to the contract price either up or down will be
made on a time and material basis.

It is assumed that all specified trenching and cable work is in ground free from obstruction.
Any additional work involved in digging through or removing obstructions will be charged as
extra to the price quoted.
3/
It’s assumed within this quotation that there is sufficient space within the footpath on Bancroft
road for the proposed new HV radial feeder, with the assumption of Bancroft road crossing
(Section 58) notice.
4/
No allowances have been made within this quotation for the modification if required of the
existing metering CT’s on the proposed HV breaker within the private side of the Heasanford
Network Substation.
5/
No allowances have been made for any cost associated with the transfer of control of the
private HV network.
6/
No allowances have been made to carry out any civil works within the Heasanford Network
Substation, it’s assumed within this quotation that the existing HV cable trenches are
acceptable from outside the substation.
