Firmware Update Instructions
Oct 2015
This document describes how to update the firmware of the PS3/PS4 to Xbox One
Brook Super Converters.
NOTE
The update must be done on a PC; it cannot be done on a console.
NOTE
These instructions are based on Windows 7.
NOTE
If you run Win 8 you will not need to install the patch files.
NOTE
It is recommended to connect the Super Converter to a USB port on the
backside of desktop computers.
NOTE
Follow this step-by-step procedure diligently.
NOTE
These instructions are valid for three different Super Converter model
updates, but each model uses different update files. When you download the
update files for your model, you will get exactly the files you need.
Double-check using the table below to ensure that you have the right files:

STEP 5 Double-click the Xbox driver file and follow the steps to install the driver. This
might take a few minutes.
STEP 6 When the Xbox driver installation has completed the Super Converter will
show as Microsoft Xbox One Controller in the Device Manager:
NOTE
Note that the lower part of the icon will show a game controller (this is very
small) if the driver installation was successful. If a yellow warning sign is
shown instead of the controller please download and install two patch files;
see Appendix B for how to do this.
STEP 7 Proceed to update the firmware. Plug in the Super Converter and connect
a controller that the Super Converter supports to the Super Converter
(preferably an original controller; that is to say no 3rd party).

STEP 8 Go to the downloaded files. Right-click on the –A ending update file and click
Run as administrator rather than double-clicking the file. The following

STEP 9 Follow the steps indicated in green on the image above: First press the PS
and START buttons at the same time. This will make the light of the Super
Converter flash quickly. Then press and hold the LEFT STICK. With this
button down, press the PS button again. When this is done you enter the
Settings Mode. The Super Converter light will now be off.
STEP 10 The screen will automatically change to show the following:

of the Super Converter.
NOTE
For the -B update, the light will not turn off when entering the Settings

If the Update button in the lower left corner does not activate following the
steps above, then the Zeroplus driver may not be installed yet. You can
check if this is the problem by checking the status in the Device Manager as
done in STEP 6. If this is the problem the Super Converter will no longer be
recognized; see the photo below showing the yellow warning sign. See how
to do update the Zeroplus driver in Appendix C.

Patch file installation
These files are files from Microsoft. You might already have done this update, so this
procedure does not apply to all users.
Download two patch files from:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2685811
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2685813
In this example we install the 64-bit files.
Double-click one of the files to start the installation. It is not important which file is
installed first. Follow the steps to install the patch file.
Proceed to install the second file, once again making sure the right bit-version is
chosen.
When the installations are complete; restart the computer to have the changes come
into effect.
When the computer has restarted, confirm that the Super Converter appears as
Microsoft Xbox One Controller in the Device Manager as described in STEP 4.
After the installation has been completed, the Super Converter’s LED should turn on.
