the four ball match play tournament

THE FOUR BALL MATCH PLAY TOURNAMENT
This tournament has two man teams playing match play against each other according to the
current RCGA rules. Individual two man teams’ signup for the tournament and a draw is formed
by the responsible Board member.
The following points of clarification are made to help players understand the rules:
This is a knock out draw with teams using current handicaps playing off of the lowest handicap
among the four contestants. Each player plays his own ball and records a gross score. Each
team uses the net score of their lowest scoring player and the team with the lowest scoring
player of the two teams wins the hole. Ties are halved, and not carried over.
In completing the score card, the winning score should be circled on each hole and the score
keeper should indicate whether his team is one up or one down on the hole unless it is halved.
At the completion of 18 holes the team with the most holes won moves on to play the next
team in the draw. In the case of a tie, except for the final round, at the end of 18 holes one
player from each team will play off on the putting green in a sudden death competition which
will start from the first hole and continue until a hole is won. If a tie in the final round after 18
holes they will play sudden death starting over on hole one.
The team winning the final match of the draw will be declared the winner and awarded the
FOUR BALL MATCH PLAY TROPHY and a keeper trophy and black golf for each player.
The second place team will also receive a black golf shirt.
