Scholastic The Seven Signs Design-a-sign Competition Terms and Conditions of Entry Entry into the Scholastic The Seven Signs Design-a-sign Competition is deemed acceptance of the terms and conditions set out below. Promoter’s name and address The promoter is Scholastic Australia P/L 76–80 Railway Crescent, Lisarow NSW 2250 ABN 11 000 614 577 Eligibility The promotion is open to all purchasers of books #1 Skyfire, #2 Carnage, #3 Wipe Out and #4 Killswitch in the series The Seven Signs by Michael Adams. This includes students, Scholastic Book Club Organisers and teachers from registered, participating schools in Australia, as well as members of the general public. The promotion is open to Australian and New Zealand residents only. Details of Prizes: Prize Winners Grand Prize Winner: • Fitbit Blaze smartwatch* • A pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses • Winner’s name and winning symbol design printed on the last page of Book #7: Battlefront. *Fitbit Blaze smartwatch subject to change or substitution depending on latest model at the time of draw. Four Prize Winners: One prize given away with each book (#1 Skyfire, #2 Carnage, #3 Wipe Out and #4 Killswitch) • Aerial Drone Method of entry To enter, participants must create their own The Seven Signs style symbol (as each of the first 4 books are now released), explain what the symbol means and answer the relevant question for that book. Question to be advised on 1 April 2017 From the first publication date of each book, entrants will have two months to submit their symbol and answer the relevant question. There will be one prize winner from each of the first four books. The grand prize winner will be selected from the four prize winners. Scholastic asks each entrant to seek approval from their parent or guardian before entering the competition. Please note: Scholastic Australia will not pass on your personal details to any third party. Personal details are only used for the identification of winners. Duration of promotion The promotion commences on 1 September 2016 and; Entries close for Book #1 – 1 November 2016, at midnight AEST Entries close for Book #2 – 1 January 2016, at midnight AEST Entries close for Book #3 - 1 April 2017, at midnight AEST Entries close for Book #4 - 1 June 2017, at midnight AEST (launched 1 September 2016) (launched 1 November 2016) (launched 1 February 2017) (launched 1 April 2017) Judging Final judging will take place at the Promoter’s premises on 19 June 2017. This is a game of skill; chance plays no part in determining the winners. Each entry will be judged on its creative merit. The judges’ decision in relation to any aspect of the competition will be final and binding on every person who enters. No correspondence will be entered into. Publication of results The prize winners and grand prize winner will be notified in writing via email, or phone (if number is provided and the winners are not contactable by email). The winner will be notified via email. The winner’s names will also be published on the Scholastic Competitions website at scholastic.com.au/competitions from 19 June 2017. Postage The promoter will be responsible for delivery of the prize to the winner. Delivery of the prize may take up to six weeks. Unclaimed Prize Draw In the event that prizes may not be distributable to winners, Scholastic will offer an unclaimed prize draw within three months of the original draw date. This draw will be opened to all participants who submitted codes for the four rare cards. Prizes awarded as part of the unclaimed prize draw will be valid for a period of no less than 12 months from date of issue (where suitable and/or applicable). Other Considerations Prizes are non-transferable for cash and must be taken as offered. All elements of the prize are subject to availability with no cash alternative and the prize is non-transferable and nonrefundable. If the prize or portion of the prize is unavailable, for whatever reason, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with a prize of equal or greater value.
