Lifeskills Education Programme - Educational Play
As part of the Academy’s Lifeksills education programme, and our commitment to the physical,
mental and emotional well-being of our students we are pleased to inform you that on Thursday 13th
October all Year 9 students will be seeing an educational play called “Last Orders” followed by taking
part in workshops to discuss the issues raised in the presentation.
The drama is powerful and was developed to address concerns about the increase in young people’s
consumption of alcohol and the risks posed through anti-social behaviour, illegal purchase of agerestricted goods, together with personal safety (physical and sexual health).
The package helps fulfil the KS3 PSHE curriculum topic area of ‘Developing a healthy, safer lifestyle’
by exploring a number of related issues thoroughly such as resisting peer pressure, better
understanding of drugs (alcohol) and the law and recognising and managing risk.
It is funded by Northamptonshire Crimestoppers of which Northamptonshire Police are a partner.
