RECRUITING MATERIALS
• Recruiting materials may not be provided to
prospects, parents or their coaches prior to
September 1 at beginning of junior year
• This includes e-mails and attachments
RECRUITING QUESTIONNAIRES

Must be generic in nature
•
Cannot include facts about Kennesaw State
•
Cannot include facts about department or your program
•
Cannot include any recruiting correspondence, unless sent after
September 1 of junior year
MEDIA GUIDES
• Institution may only provide a media guide to a
prospective student-athlete via an e-mail
attachment or hyperlink.
Effective date: August 1, 2011
FLASH DRIVES/JUMP DRIVES
• It is no longer permissible to provide prospects,
parents and/or their coaches with media storage
devices (flash/jump drives)
Effective date: August 1, 2011
OFFICIAL VISIT REQUEST REMINDER
•
Coach must submit Official Visit Request Form, along with a
copy of an official transcript and test scores (ACT, SAT, PSAT
or PLAN) to Justin (preferably 5 days before the visit)
 The prospect must be registered with the NCAA Eligibility Center before
we can approve an official visit.
 Once approved, you will receive an e-mail approval
 The earlier you submit the documentation, the easier it will be to address
any issues.
OFFICIAL VISIT POLICY REMINDER
1. Provide Justin with the NCAA Eligibility Center ID
2. Complete the Official Visit Request Form
3. Attach copies of official transcripts and test scores

Transcripts must include the name of the school as well as the name of the prospect and
must be visible
4. Notification of Approval of Official Visit will be e-mailed to
you
UNOFFICIAL VISITS
•
Off-campus meals may only include coaching staff members
that have been certified to recruit off-campus

Off-campus meals count as a contact
•
Prospects may not receive a university discounted rate for
lodging at any hotel
•
Prospects must pay campus visitor rate to stay with current
student-athletes on-campus
•
Prospects may not stay with current student-athletes offcampus
PHONE CALLS/PHONE LOGS
• Phone calls may not be made to individuals or their
parents/legal guardians prior to July 1 following
completion of their junior year.
• Exception: Men’s Basketball – One call per month
from June 15 of sophomore year – July 31 of junior
year in high school
PHONE CALLS/PHONE LOGS
• Exception: Women’s Basketball

One telephone call during month of April during junior year on or after
the Thursday after the conclusion of NCAA Division I Final Four

One telephone call during the month of May during junior year in high
school

One telephone call from June 1 – June 20 during junior year in high
school

One telephone call on or after June 21 – June 30 during junior year in
high school

Three telephone calls during the month of July following junior year in
high school, with not more than one call per week.
PHONE CALLS/PHONE LOGS
• General rule only allows one phone call per
week
• Exception: Baseball, Track/XC, Softball,
Volleyball may make unlimited phone calls
during a contact period.
PHONE CALLS/PHONE LOGS
• Exception: Men’s Basketball
 Beginning August 1 after junior year, coaches may make
two telephone calls per week outside a contact period
 During contact period after August 1 before senior year,
unlimited telephone calls are permissible
PHONE CALLS/PHONE LOGS
• Exception: Women’s Basketball
 Outside a contact period, one call per week is permissible
and unlimited phone calls are permissible during a contact
period
• Pursuant to a NCAA interp, a recruiting week
is Sunday through Saturday
 Applies to phone calls and contact/evaluations

• Phone Call Exceptions
 Official Visit Exception – unlimited phone calls the five days
immediately preceding the official visit
 NLI Signing Date Exception – initial date of NLI signing
period and the two days immediately following
 Off-Campus Contact Exception – unlimited phone calls on
the day of an off-campus contact
PHONE CALLS/PHONE LOGS
• Phone Logs
 Submitted to Justin once a month
 Phone Log Request folder in your mailbox at the beginning
of each month
 Phone Logs are due the 14th of each month
 During time periods of unlimited phone calls, there is no
requirement to submit phone logs to compliance office
(must still submit folder back to compliance office)
