SoundWaters Tall Ships Ball May 11, 2013 About the Honoree SoundWaters will honor Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE: PBI) with the 2nd Annual Founder’s Award. The award is in recognition of Pitney Bowes’ legacy of corporate community support and involvement in Stamford. Pitney Bowes promotes environmental responsibility and is a leader in upholding and continuously improving the economic, educational and environmental qualities of our region. Governor Dannel P. Malloy, the first recipient of the award, will make the presentation at SoundWaters Tall Ships Ball in May, 2013. “Environmental responsibility is an important part of our effort to provide sustainable value to customers and shareholders,” said Robbie Narcisse, vice president global ethics and business practices, Pitney Bowes Inc. “Our environmental programs conserve energy, conserve raw materials, save landfill space and reduce air pollution, and we are pleased to be recognized by SoundWaters for our efforts.” Pitney Bowes has supported SoundWaters education programs from the very beginning, and has continued as a major funder of SoundWaters Coastal Education Center in Cove Island Park. The transformation of this once‐dilapidated building into a hub of science learning was made possible by the leadership of Pitney Bowes and has enabled SoundWaters to increase environmental literacy among schoolchildren throughout the region. “Pitney Bowes has led the way in promoting and supporting literacy, including science literacy among all students. Through their funding and volunteer efforts, they have made it possible for a generation of students to learn about the natural world by sailing and studying on Long Island Sound.” Leigh Shemitz, PhD SoundWaters Executive Director About the Event The 2013 SoundWaters Tall Ships Ball will be held on May 11, 2013 at Stamford Yacht Club in Stamford, Connecticut.
