NEW JERSEY ATHLETIC CONFERENCE FIELD HOCKEY PLAYERS OF THE WEEK WEEK ENDING 9/25/16 OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK SHAUNA LaMAINA • Kean University Junior • Midfielder • Oaklyn, NJ/Collingswood LaMaina earns her first NJAC Offensive Player of the Week award after leading Kean to two more wins. She drained three goals and added three assists in a pair of nonconference wins to push Kean’s record to 9-0. She scored once and assisted on another against St. Joseph’s (ME). She followed up with a two-goal, two-assist performance - including the game-winning goal - against Thomas College (ME). LaMaina is currently tied with her twin sister as the NJAC leaders in assists (7), and is also tied for second in points (25) and tied for third in goals (9). DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK CARLY DeMARCO • Rowan University Junior • Goalkeeper • Gloucester City, NJ/Gloucester City DeMarco picks up her first NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honor after posting a 2-0 weekend in goal for the Profs. She recorded 11 saves and gave up just one goal, including six saves in a 2-1 win over Stevenson and five saves in a 3-0 shutout of Haverford. DeMarco currently ranks second among NJAC goalies in save percentage (.800), third in saves (40) and fourth in goals against average (1.08). ROOKIE OF THE WEEK CAYLA ANDREWS • The College of New Jersey Freshman • Defender • Hackettstown, NJ/Hackettstown Andrews earns her first NJAC Rookie of the Week honor after erupting for a hat trick in a 5-0 win over Gwynedd-Mercy. She scored the first two goals of the game, which included the game winner, and capped off the hat trick with the final goal of the game. With her three goals last week, she moved into the top 10 in the NJAC in goals (4)
