Below is our Scotland Golf Tour Itinerary planned for August 2011. If you would like to customize your own golf vacation

August 13: Depart the USA for Scotland
August 14: Arrive Scotland. You will be met by our Scottish golf host who
assist with your luggage and transfer to the Fairmont Hotel in St Andrews
will be your base for 5 nights. The afternoon of August 14 you will play St
Andrews Torrance Course. The Torrance Course designed by the late
Sarazen and winning Ryder Cup captain Sam Torrance, is a par 72, 6986championship course. The Torrance was the final qualifying course for the
British Open Championship.

August 15: Start your day with a full Scottish breakfast. Today you will play
St Andrews Old Course* or St. Andrews New. The New Course is
St. Andrews Torrance Course
regarded as the oldest "new" course in the world. A classic links course with
undulating fairways and challenging greens, it was set out in 1895 by Old
Morris. In the evening enjoy your welcome dinner at the Fairmont Hotel with your hosts Sam Smith.

August 16: Full Scottish breakfast. You will either play the St Andrews Old Course* or Carnoustie Championship Golf
Course, host of the 2008 Open Championship. Many, including Walter Hagen and Gary Player, rate Carnoustie as the
best links in the world. After your round of golf you can enjoy the town of St Andrew’s many sites, pubs and admission to
the St Andrews museum.
August 17: Full Scottish breakfast. You will play either the St Andrews Old Course* or St Andrews Kittocks Course.
St Andrews Kittocks Course is a coastal landscape course that sweeps along the seaside landscape of St Andrews
designed by Bruce Devlin. This protected area provides an abundance of wildlife including pheasants, rabbits, hares,
deer, grouse and badgers that can be seen during your round.
August 18: Full Scottish breakfast. On your final golfing day in St Andrews, if you have played
the Old Course you will play (Carnoustie/New/Kittocks) that was missed to play the Old Course. If
anyone has not been successful in the ballot, we will instruct you on how to work with the starter
at the St Andrews Old Course* or we can arrange an alternative round of golf for this day.

Castle course which is 5 minutes from our hotel.
August 19: Full Scottish breakfast. Either transfer to the airport for your return flight home or extend your Scotland stay

August 19: After your Scottish breakfast, you will transfer to the west coast of Scotland (2
hours by motor coach) to your hotel for two nights at Troon Marine Hotel, overlooking the
18th hole of Royal Troon golf course. Today you will play Royal Troon which is the home
to one of the best links courses in Scotland and is steeped in golfing history, notably
several dramatic Open Championships since 1923. Visitors must have a handicap of 20 or
less and a handicap certificate. This course is perhaps most famous for its par 3 8th hole,
the Postage Stamp. The course is undulating in the classic links fashion but danger lurks
Royal Troon
in the guise of wind, rough and bunkers. This is a course which demands courage and a
test of the mental aspects of golf. Course record of 64 is held by Greg Norman from the
1989 Open. You can play a second 18 today on the Portland Course at Royal Troon.
August 20: After your Scottish breakfast, transfer 30 minutes to enjoy Turnberry Resort and
play Prestwick, the birthplace of The Open Championships 150 years ago or Turnberry
Ailsa Course, venue for the 2009 British Open Championship and easily one of the top links
in the world.
August 21: Transfer to the airport for your return flight home.

*The St Andrews Old Course tee times are based on success through the daily ballot. We will enter you in the ballot each
day at 2 pm starting prior to your arrival to Scotland to assure you success – we have five days which means we should
get you a tee time at the Old Course. In the unlikely event we cannot get you a tee time on the Old Course, we will instruct
you on when and how to work with the starter to get on The Old Course or we can arrange an alternative round of golf for
this day and refund the difference in cost. Requirements to play the Old Course: The maximum handicap for play on
the Old Course is 24 for men and 36 for ladies. You must have an official handicap card (USGA or equivalent) to play the
Old Course. Royal Troon handicap requirements: must have a handicap of 20 or less and a handicap certificate and
letter of introduction to prove it.
