2-1 Conditional Statements
Conditional Statement- an “If…then…”
statement.
Hypothesis- the “If…” part of a conditional
statement.
Conclusion- the “then…” part of a conditional
statement.
Ex) If it is cold, then I wear a jacket.

Truth of Logic Statements
Validity or Truth Value– whether a statement is
true or false.
Counterexample- proves that the conclusion of a
logic statement is false.
Ex) If it is cold, then I wear a jacket.
Validity: false
Counterexample: sweater, long-sleeve shirt, etc.
