able here too!
All jewelry must be removed before
play. This includes any exercise
trackers such as Fitbits, Misfits,
Jawbones, etc.
Please make sure your teammates
know the rules.
Games begin September 6, 2016
NEW RULE:
Pass the Word!
Phone Ahead
Managers are expected to relay all program and rule information to their teammates.
Do they know if a team forfeits twice, it is out of the
league? Do players know they have to sit out two games if
they get ejected? Tell them and share the burden!
Give them the web address to check the schedule:
www.mscrsportsleagues.org
Sharing the responsibility can make your job as a manager
a lot easier!
As a player, remember to check the website and stay informed. This will make your manager’s job a little easier!
No one likes showing
up to a game just to
learn their opponent
is not there.
If you know ahead of
time that your team
will forfeit, please
call MSCR. We will
call your opponent
and referee.

Rules and Equipment
Not so Fast
Teams must have five players dressed and
ready to play when the official is ready to
begin the match.
Players are not permitted into
the gym until 10 minutes prior to
the first scheduled match. Only
site supervisors & officials are
permitted to enter early to set
up equipment. Please practice
outdoors if you and your players
arrive early.
Matches will begin at the game time as indicated on the schedule. There is no grace period.
What if I need a couple
more players?
Email [email protected] or stop in
to MSCR to request the player pool.
A match will consist of three 25 point sets or
the one hour time limit, whichever comes first.
Standings count total sets, not matches, won.
MSCR will furnish a game ball. Teams can
agree to use a legal alternative ball, if desired.
Add Players Now!
You may add players to your roster now through October 10, 2016.
Each player contract (paper or online) and $55 player fee (+$10 for non-residents) must
be received by MSCR by 5:00 pm on the day you play. You cannot give them to the referee
at the start of a game.
Teams using non-registered players will forfeit the match and may be dropped from the
program.
Extra, Extra!
Nightly results and league standings will be posted on your league
page online at:
mscrsportsleagues.org
“Little” Reminders
Children brought to games are the parents’ responsibility and must remain
seated in the gym at all times. They will
not be allowed to run/play in the hallways or along the sidelines. Site supervisors and officials have been instructed to stop matches immediately if a
child appears to be unsupervised on or
near the courts or team benches.
High Expectations
MSCR is committed to providing a
program free of harassment or discrimination of any kind.
It is MSCR’s mission to provide an
emotionally safe environment for all
players, fans, and officials. Teams or
fans unable to uphold these standards will be asked to leave.
Move It or Lose It
Parking at the High School is tough before the 7:15 matches as parents are
picking up kids off the football fields
and volleyball courts. Please allow 5 extra minutes to park and walk.
$75 tickets are given by
the City of Madison to anyone parked in the fire lanes!
Let your teammates know to come early
so you won’t forfeit the first set. The
game will start on time, there is no
grace period. You are coming for the exercise, so consider the longer walk a
good warm up!
Lost and Found
If you lost an item, please check with the
MSCR volleyball staff where you played
your lost game . If you do find something
right after your game, please give it to an
official or a staff member.
SHOUT OUTS!
If you see a referee that deserves a compliment or needs some help, please call it to our
attention so our supervisors can give them a
pat on the back or help them out. The area supervisor is Tawni. She assists Diana Miller
([email protected] OR 204-3032) with
the nightly supervision and evaluation of staff.
She can’t be at every game, so we appreciate
your feedback and suggestions.
Keep it Clean
Please remember to keep the sidelines clear by putting your jackets, sweats, etc. in the
locker room or on the sidelines near the referee’s platform. This will help everyone avoid
injuries and give you more playable space.
Remember, safety first!
You can even bring a lock and use one of the lockers to store things such as phones and
jewelry for the whole team. That way no one forgets their valuables!
And the tie goes to…
We count total sets (not matches)
won in the standings. When TWO
teams tie for a round, no play-off
match is held.
The round winner is determined by
a tie-breaker. The winner of the
head-to-head competition within
the round is the round winner. If 3
or more teams tie, play-off matches
are scheduled. A blind draw is used
to determine matches.
We are the Champions
Championship t-shirts are awarded at
the end of the season. Each registered
member of the league championship
team will receive a shirt.
Team managers will receive a letter following their championship win with instructions on how to pick up the shirts.
Not doing so well?
League adjustments are made, if possible, immediately following the conclusion of Round 1.
League adjustments can only be made if there is another league playing at the same level
(power or intermediate) on the same night as your team. Revised schedules will be
mailed/posted online the second week of October for leagues that have changed. Watch for
this as there may be a change in gym or game time even if your team has not switched leagues.
MSCR balances the leagues to equalize the competition so all teams can have a more enjoyable
season.
