OFFICIAL MISSISSIPPI SMASH LEAGUE TOURNAMENT RULES AND REGULATIONS Project M General Rules o Game Settings: 4 Stocks, 8-Minute Time Limit, Best of 3 Games. Finals are Best of 5. Items are disabled. Input buffer is disabled All chain grabs and infinites are legal Pause option is disabled in the game menu. If left on, accidental pausing mid match forfeits a stock. o You may not choose the last stage you have won on during a set, unless agreed by both players. o If time runs outs, most stocks determine the tie, and then if still tied, by percentage. If percentage is tied, a 1 stock, 3-minute match is played. o Playing as Giga Bowser or Wario Man is banned Doubles Rules o Team Attack enabled o Sharing stocks is allowed Stage List o Starter Stages Battlefield Delfino's Secret Pokémon Stadium 2 Smashville Green Hill Zone o Counter-Pick Stages Final Destination Dreamland (64) Fountain of Dreams Wario Land Match Procedure o Players select their characters. Either player may choose to Blind Pick. In this case, each player secretly tells a third player their character before picking with the third player verifying their selections. o Players play Rock-Paper-Scissors. Winner chooses between selecting controller port or first Stage Strike o Players take turns removing stages from the Starter Stages list above based upon the results of the previous rule. The first player to strike removes one(1) stage from the list, the second player removes two(2), the first player then selects from the remaining two stages to play on. o The players play the first match of the set Winning player of the preceding match bans two stages from the full list of stages, both Starter and Counter-Pick. o o o o o The Losing player of the preceding match picks a stage for the next match. o o o o Cannot choose the stage banned in the previous step, nor the last stage they've already won on during this set, unless agreed. The winning player of the preceding match may choose to change characters. The losing player of the preceding match may choose to change characters. The losing player of the preceding match may change their controller port. Repeat Steps 5 through 10 for all subsequent matches until the set is complete. Melee General Rules o Game Settings: 4 Stocks, 8 Minute Time Limit o Items are disabled. o Stalling with moves such as Jigglypuff's Rising Pound or Peach's Wall Bomber is banned. o Glitches such as Ice Climbers’s Freeze Glitch and Mewtwo’s Soul Stunner are banned. o Pause option is disabled in the game menu. If left on, accidental pausing mid match forfeits a stock. o You may not choose any stage you have won on during a set, unless agreed by both players. o A tie is determined by most stocks taken; and, if still tied, by percentage. Smash for Wii U (Singles and Doubles) General Rules o Double Elimination. o Best 2 out of 3 sets, 3 out of 5 for finals. o Singles 2 stock / Doubles 3 stock. o Singles 6:00 minutes / Doubles 8:00 minutes. o Pause Off. o No Items. o No Customs. o Team attack on. o All characters and stages must be unlocked. Stage / Character Selection: o Determine top and bottom seed (ex. RPS). o Bottom seed strikes one stage; top seed picks stage from remaining two. o Players blind pick character. o Set’s winner bans two stages. o Loser picks from the remaining starter and counter stages. o Winner picks character first, loser counter picks. o Repeat until match is complete. Banned stages remained banned throughout the match. Winner can not choose stage previously won on. Any stages may be played on upon players’ agreement. Misc Rules o Players stalling may result in forfeit at TO’s discretion. Ex. traveling under stage repeatedly. o Player may request the opponent to change costume color if the contrast of it blends in with the background. o Controllers Gamecube controller Wii U Pro controller Wiimote 3DS We recommend taking batteries out of wireless controllers in between matches. Wii U Pro controllers can be powered via USB. Victory Conditions o Result screens are honored. o If time expires, the player with the most stocks remaining wins. o If players have equal amount of stocks, player with the lowest damage wins. o If a simultaneous KO occurs, players will play another set of 1 stock with 3 minutes.
