FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Monday 14 March 2016 Arlington, Virginia - On Thursday night Voters for Charles Hernick hosted a campaign event where supporters packed a local pub in the Courthouse neighborhood. “This doesn’t feel like politics as usual, does it?” Charles remarked to an enthusiastic crowd of all ages, including millennials to retirees. The goal of the event, at Ireland's Four Courts in Arlington, was to create an opportunity to learn about the congressional race for Virginia’s 8th District and Charles Hernick’s campaign for the GOP nomination and the election in November. “My competition for the Republican nomination is a self-proclaimed activist. He says he’s the most vocal. And he is vocal ... he’s issued rambling press releases about everything from conspiracy theories to the size of my dog. That contrasts with what I’m doing. I'm running a serious, issue-oriented campaign. I think we’ve heard enough from politicians that like to hear themselves talk.” Charles added, “I am doing everything I can to win the nomination on May 7th and then move on to run against an incumbent who is satisfied with the status quo. It’s time for change.” Charles spoke about his background and what he brings to the race. “I’ve been working since I was 16 years old. All I know is hard work and how to get results. And I've been getting results for my entire professional career.” Charles added “The success I’ve had working around the world and in Washington, DC give me perspective and the urgency to act.” Charles added, “there is a difference between what my competition stands for and the type of action and results I have a reputation for. I want to take my solutions-oriented approach to Washington. I am the only candidate focused on the economy and what we can do for small businesses and startups. I am the only candidate focusing on national security. And I am the only candidate putting forward ideas for the type of accountable, responsive, limited government that rewards top performing employees and innovators, and would bring better information technology into government.” “It was a successful night,” Charles remarked after the event. “We got a good number of folks out talking about the race -- and we had a good time. People are into it. We saw record voter turnout on Super Tuesday. People are ready to change the status quo -- and that’s what we’re focused on here in Northern Virginia.” Charles also spoke at the Fairfax County Republican Committee Convention on Saturday. He was the only candidate seeking the Republican nomination in attendance. This Wednesday (March 16th), Charles will address the Arlington GOP’s meeting at 7:30 PM. The meeting will be at the Washington-Lee Theater (1301 N Stafford St, Arlington). Charles is seeking the Republican nomination at the Republican Party of Virginia’s 8th District Convention on Saturday, May 7, 2016. The nominee will be chosen by delegates attending the convention.
