successNET Guide: Set Up Appointment Preferences Set Up Appointment Preferences Before you begin to use successNET with students, it is important to set up your appointment preferences on your profile so students can find how, when, and where to get in contact with you. In this section of the successNET instructions, you will find a guide to: Setting appointment time preferences Adding your office location Adding a Calendar Manager who can edit your calendar Setting Email Notifications for receiving appointments Clicking Setting Up Appointment Preferences takes you to a short, hands-on tutorial where you can actually go through these steps in a simulated environment. You have to enter your BGSU user name and password to start the simulation. How to use this document 1. Follow the instructions on the left panel for specific click-by-click directions. Look for the numbers in yellow boxes ( ) in the right panel to see screen shots that correspond with the instructions of the same number. 2. Look for the lightning bolt ( ) for the most useful tips of this section. 1. Once you have logged into successNET, click Profile in the navigation menu at the top of the page. 2. Click the APPOINTMENT PREFERENCES tab. To set up the Basics for your appointments: a. Select the Minimum Appointment Length of an appointment, click the drop-down menu, and select the length of time. When students sign up, they see the time slots for the appointment lengths you allow. b. Set the Scheduling deadline by clicking one of the radio buttons. You can choose to have no deadline, the deadline be at a specific time the day before the appointment, the deadline to be at a specific time the day of the appointment, or the deadline to be a specific number of hours before the appointment. c. Select whether or not students can drop in after the deadline has passed. Click the Add Location button to enter locations for meetings with your students. 4. Add a Location by a. Selecting the type of location from the drop-down list. b. Entering a name for the location c. Including any instructions, if necessary d. Clicking the Save button and then clicking the OK button. The location is added. To add another location, click the Add Location button again. a b c d 5. The Calendar Manager enables people other than you to add and edit your office hours and schedule and edit appointments in your calendar. To add a calendar Manager, click the Add Calendar Manager button. 6. Add a Calendar Manager by: a. Selecting the person from the drop-down list. You can start entering their name in the Enter Name field and a list of possible successNET users will display. b. Clicking the Save button and then clicking the OK button. The calendar manager is added. To add another calendar manager, click the Add Calendar Manager button again a b 7.
