TENTED CAMPS
Camp Features: Located along the Savuti Channel , Camp Savuti is a small intimate camp,
with 5 meru tents built on silts and facing the river channel. The camp features a bar, main
lounge, eating area, air- conditioning, bathing room en-suite in each unit, an outdoor shower
and a private balcony.
Directions
The camp is located in the middle of the Chobe National Park.5 hour’s drive from Maun. 3+
hr drive from Kasane and 2 Hr drive from Linyanti. The camp can be easily accessible by air
or by road.
From Airstrip
15 minutes drives transfers from/to camp.

When to travel:



The rainy season generally runs between December to March, peaking in January
and February.
The Savuti and Linyanti region offers excellent year round game viewing.
Rainy season is when the plain’s animals (mainly Zebra) move south to enjoy the
lushness of the Savuti Marsh and Mababe Depression.
A TRYPICAL DAY ON A SAFARI
This is a rough schedule of how a typical day on safari looks like. This is always scheduled
to change due to weather and other factors.
The guide will focus on where there is wildlife and the best method of viewing the best of
what Botswana has to offer. The times below are merely a suggestion of what to expect.
05:30 – 06:30
A simple early morning snack of cereals, yoghurts and fruit is served
Before departing on the game drive.
09:30 – 10:30
You will take a break in between game drives to be served with light snacks and tea
12:00
Lunch
13:00 -14:00
Siesta time
15:00 - 16:00
Afternoon tea is served before the afternoon game drive which normally departs at 16:00.
19:00
Return from your game drive and enjoy a boma dinner.
Detailed Safari Itinerary:
INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT CONNECTION GUIDE:
Most guests on international flights arrive into South Africa with onward connecting to Maun
in Botswana as there are no direct flights to Botswana. If arriving on a morning flight at OR
Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, and you may want to relax for a day before
connecting to Maun in Botswana.
Day 1-3: Savuti
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and proceed to check in for your flight to Maun in
Botswana. Upon arrival at the Maun Airport. And transferred by air to Savuti for the nights of
your stay at Camp Savuti. Upon arrival you will be greeted by our friendly staff singing
welcome songs, have a complimentary drink and warm towels. This will be followed by an
orientation from our camp manager. This is a small 5 rooms camp, accommodating no more
than 10 guests, and is consistent to provide an intimate camp experience with personal. The
main area has a lounge, dining room and a small bar area with vista of wildlife and flora.
Guests can also enjoy some relaxation between game drives during siesta time.
The daily safari routine at Camp Savuti generally involves an early morning wake up call, and
a gathering around at the main area for hot tea and coffee, a bowl of cereal and freshly baked
muffins. As well as the clean early morning air and dazzling sun rise, an early departure
greatly increases the chances of unusual sightings, as the majority of mammals are active at
the beginning and end of the day when temperatures are lower. The seasonal marsh water
makes this one of the most consistent game viewing experience.

Breakfast. Morning activity. Thereafter, transfer to the airstrip for your flight to Maun Airport.

Camp Linyanti Fact Sheet
Camp feautures:5 meru tents facing the Linyanti Caprivi River. The camp features a bar,
main lounge, eating area, air- conditioning, bathing room en-suite in each unit, an outdoor
shower and a private balcony.
LOCATION
Cradled in the north-western corner of the game-rich Chobe National Park, lies the ecofriendly and earthy Camp Linyanti. Boasting only 5 Meru-style safari tents, Camp Linyanti
offers guests an authentic and intimate safari experience. Located on the Linyanti lagoon
with views of unexplored waterways, riverine forests and floodplains; Camp Linyanti is one of
the Chobe National Parks hidden gems.
The Linyanti lagoon is fed by the floods from both the Chobe and Kwando rivers. This
particular pocket offers one of the best game viewing areas in Botswana. It’s a birding
paradise and there is an abundance of elephant herds during the dry winter season. In the
distance lies Namibia’s Caprivi strip, which is a narrow protrusion of land linking Zimbabwe,
Zambia and northern Botswana. The diverse habitat, endless views and exceptional game
viewing make the Linyanti a sought after destination.
ACCESS TO CAMP
To access the reaching floodplains of the Linyanti, guests will be flown to the local airstrip
about 90 minutes' to 2 hours' drive from Camp Linyanti. Saile airstrip is located in Chobe
National Park and receives light air transfers from both Kasane and Maun airports, which are
40-50 minute flights away.
At Saile airstrip, guests will meet with a representative from Camp Linyanti who will then
drive them to last leg to the camp itself. This drive will be nothing short of enjoyable as it
traverses through the Chobe National Park and into the Linyanti on roads that wind their way
through wildlife territory.
