How to access the math placement test
Because you will be allowed to take the math placement test unsupervised and on your own
it is important that you understand that the University expects you to do your own work
without the assistance of others or unauthorized aids.
When taking the math placement test you are able to use a scientific or graphing calculator. If
you are an international student for whom English is a 2nd language you are allowed to use a
dictionary to help you with any terms or words that may be unfamiliar to you.
IMPORTANT: You must have claimed your DUCK ID in order to access the math placement
test. Once your DUCK ID has been claimed, you will need to wait 24hrs. before you will be able
to take the math placement test.

You will need to enter your DUCK ID and password.
Once you have entered your DUCK ID and password you will see the math placement test web
page.

Before you begin your test:
1) Please read all of the information in the section labeled “Welcome to Math Placement
Testing at the University of Oregon”.
2) Please click, open and review all of the information found in “Take INTRO READ
FIRST test”
3) There are 4 Practice tests, one for each Part. Please take and review the practice test
before beginning to your math placement test.
The test has 4 parts, A, B, C & D. You should begin with Part A and do as much of the test as
you can. The information below will show you which tests are taken in order to qualify for
specific university math courses.
You will be shown your results as soon as you finish each test. If you are not satisfied with your
results you may retest after waiting for 24 hours.
