Ice Magic BY: MATT CHRISTOPHER CESAR MERCADO A is for Attic The twins said that they found the “magical” toy hockey game in there Attic on a shelf. B is for Bears The Bears was the first team that faced Pie Penneli and his team, the Penguins. This was the game that Pie didn’t do really good in and was complaining most of the time about this shoes. C is for Christopher Christopher is the last name to Matt. Matt Christopher is the author of many sport fiction books for kids. A couple books of his are “ Baseball Pads, Body Check, Cool as Ice, Football Fugitive” and many more. D is for Defense Defense on the Penguins was really good and important. The Penguin’s defense was mostly good because of its goalie. E is for Ed Courtney In “Ice Magic” Ed Courtney is probably the best goalie that the Penguins had. Ed saved so many shots toward the net that he was probably one of the best players on his team. F is for Face Off In the Penguins first game they had the most intense face off. The Bears ended up getting it but line 1 was so good that they recovered it right after the start. G is for Goalie In hockey and many other sports there needs to be goalies to protect the goal. In “ Ice Magic” one of the best goalies that Pie’s team went against. The team was not good because of all the other players, but they were good because of what great goalie they had. H is for Hawks The Hawks was the 2ND to last team that the Penguins faced. They were also great because of the goalie that they had. I is for Ice Hockey Ice Hockey is what this book is mainly about. J is for Jody and Joliette They are the twins that own the magical ice hockey game and that told Pie what was going to happen each game. K is for L is for Line 1 Line 1 included Pie and Terry. The book was based around them fighting. M is for Magic In Ice Magic, the twins insisted that there was some sort of magic going on because every play that Pie made happened before in the toy hockey game. N is for Net Ed Courtney’s job is to protect the net but he’s already good at being the goalie. O is for Outside Pie would often practice outside with the twins while they were talking about the magic hockey game. P is for Pie Penneli Pie Penneli is the main character of this book, he goes through a lot of rough times while actually play ice hockey mainly because his over sized shoes that were a hand-me-down from his older brother. Q is for Quick Pie maybe could’ve been more quick but sadly he had oversized shoes. R is for Referee All of the referees are important in mostly every type of sport but in this book, Pie didn’t really like them as they would always tell him to go into the penalty box for the most smallest things. S is for Skate Shoes Pie Penneli has these skate shoes that he uses for hockey but the problem is that he doesn’t really fit in them. He is quite scared to tell anyone about his problem, but mostly to Terry because he is afraid that Terry would make fun of him. T is for Terry Terry is the kind of the little bully. He is always making fun of Pie for missing all of his shots. U is for Uniform The Penguins had like a white and black and light blue uniform for their team. V is for Victory Even though Pie wasn’t always doing the best, especially when Terry was always on him. But Pie always scored more than Terry and their goalie, Ed Courtney, was really good. W is for Whistle The referees mostly blow the whistle if Pie the smallest mistake. X is for S-K-X-R-O-T When the twins and Pie were talking about the toy hockey game, they saw that it said this word. They ended up never finding what this word meant. Y is for Youth The team that Pie plays is for people that are around the age of him. 13 Z is for Zone Pie and his team wanted the team out of their zone so the other team won’t and Ed helped out with that.
