Nicola Rabôt has over 15 years experience across multiple Government Agencies including
the Department of Health, Department of Human Services (DHS), Victoria Police, the
Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF) and the Department of Premier and Cabinet
(DPC). Nicola has serviced clients in the corporate, Government and NGO sectors and is a
Board Director and member of several professional associations.
Nicola has assisted a range a clients from a variety of State/Federal Governments,
corporates and NGOs to identify and address a broad range of business solutions, change
management, business cases, policy, practice frameworks and stakeholder engagement.
Nicola has experience delivering Investment Management Facilitation services to a variety
of Government, corporate and not-for-profit clients. As a former Department of Treasury
and Finance (DTF) executive, Nicola is conversant with the investment decision-making

About Investment Management
The Investment Management Standard (IMS) is a collection of simple, common sense ideas
and practices that help organisation to direct resources to deliver the best outcomes.
The standard has been evolving since 2004 as a response to investment practices that
were increasingly complex but failed to focus on the real need for an investment or the
benefits that would be delivered. Its uses have expanded and can be utilised to assist with
investment decisions, priority setting, problem identification and strategic planning. For

Investment Logic Maps
The ILM is developed in a two-hour workshop in which the key participant is the Investor the executive that has the business need, will be making the decision to invest and who will
ultimately be responsible for delivering the expected benefits.
At the heart of each of these 2-hour workshops is a commitment to intelligent, challenging
discussion with a focus on strategic, evidence-based decisions about investments. The
discussion and outputs validate that:

Investment proposals are clear, compelling and evidence-based

Benefits are clearly articulated and how they will be measured understood early

Interventions are strategic, realistic and feasible

Solutions are robust and smart and there is a clear understanding of the scope of the
solution that is likely to be required to respond to the business need and produce the
benefits that are sought.
A draft ILM depicting the outcomes of the workshop will be delivered to the Investor within
24 hours of the workshop. The Investor will review the draft and advise of any changes
within 48 hours of the time of the workshop. The final ILM will then be provided back to the
Investor within 24 hours.
COST
Note: As part of the engagement you might choose to do one or all workshops for the
particular project. Most ILMs require 2 workshops. If any prior IMS workshops have been
developed on your investment make sure you inform the facilitator.
