The Winning Team of the VSMCL Annual Master’s Bonspiel will have NO losses - the format
of the draw ensures this (Winner having a Tie game is possible)
Teams are slated for their next game based on their win/loss performance after every round
SCORING Result: Win = 2 pts, Tie = 1 pts, Loss = 0 pt
SCORING: Result Win/Loss, then Ends won (1 pt) score, then Actual score differential
(max 9 for Win; min -9 for Loss). For a blanked end show ‘BE’ circled.
Game Ties not broken; except for the final Championship Game; an extra end is played.
Game Ties are not broken. Where both Teams have identical game score (R/E/S), the
first Team that won 2 ends will advance as the Winner.
Top positions pre-determined. 1st Place and 2nd Place will face off in Final Game; Final finishing
positions of this game will be Gold and Silver.
Bronze medal game is pre-determined; only Bronze is guaranteed money. Positions 4th to 6th
will be determined from overall score of remaining Teams.
Position 7th will be determined from Teams with a Max of 1 Win in the first four rounds.
A Good Sportsmanship Team wins 8th prize; Winner of the two 'Red' place teams at 8 am Wed.
A Tie in the Standings for Prizes will mean that the two or more Teams will split the prize money.
At least 25% of Teams will win prize money; prize money is established based on overall number
of Entries.
A Scoreboard will be available for all to view.
Timing of Play
1)
The VSMCL Annual Master’s Bonspiel has contracted the VCC ice between 7:30 am and 4:30 pm
2)
Games will be limited to 2 Hrs. The '15 minute grace period' is for the Convener's benefit to
clean and pebble the ice.
3)
The Bell will sound at the 1 hr 50 minute mark; finish the end in play ONLY.
4)
Ends not played will be split between teams (No score, but 1/2 pt each for ends)
5)
Teams exhibiting excessively slow play will be warned!
6)
You may start your game AS SOON AS your Ice is ready. (this may give you Bonus time)
7)
Teams with a late start will be given a ' Bell Time' and monitored by an Ice Official.
(We hope no Team gets here due to slow play of the prior team.)
8)
Etiquette of Play:
a) Once the opposing Curler throwing a rock releases the rock, YOU, as the next Curler to throw,
should go immediately to get your rock, clean the rock, and be ready to throw by the time
the opposing rock comes to rest. (For draw shots this is about 26 seconds - lots of time to focus)
b) You as the opposing Skip should ensure that your Team members are ready to throw when
you put your broom on the ice. Remember - have your strategy thought out in advance for your
front end rocks so that you can move the game along and save the 'thinking' time for your own
shots when you need it.
c) It only takes 11 minutes an end when you follow these guidelines - the extra 4 minutes
allotted is for SKIPS who can never make up their mind anyway….lol.
d) Thank-you in advance for following these guidelines and keeping our VSMCL Annual Master’s
Bonspiel ON TIME!!
