Computer application used to create, edit, manage, and publish content.
 Content = any type of digital information : text, images, graphics, video…

ADAGIO4 – Web CMS
Adagio4 is a web CMS, designed to simplify the publication of web content to
EP info offices Websites.
Adagio4 support the following features:
 Separation of content's semantic layer from its layout
 Ability to submit content without requiring technical knowledge of html or the
uploading of files.
 Collaborative creation w/ ability to assign roles and responsibilities to different
users (For ex, a content creator submits content, which is published only after the admin
revises it and the super admin approves it.)
Ability to use content for other purposes (ex: newsletters, intranet)
 Simplified / full editing interface in Fr and En


Adagio4 – The editing interface

Tool used to perform editing functions to the
content in the CMS

Accessible by typing the website address
followed by “/edit ”
(Exemple: http://test.adagio4.eu/edit)
Adagio4 - URL
 A uniform resource locator identifies the location of a website on the internet
The URL of your website is composed of 4 parts:
http://test.adagio4.eu/view/fr/contact.html

In red: the “host”, i.e. the website address.

In blue: the "mode". You can reach your website either in “View”
mode (accessible to everyone), in “Edit” mode (to modify its
content), or in “Preview” mode (to get a preview before publishing
it).


In green: the language in which the website will be posted.
In purple: the location of the current page. This location is realized
through a path. The pages are displayed in a tree-structure.

To move a page in the structure:

(up / down /  move down, under its brother /
 move up, under its parent’s parent)

SAVE : to upload your modifications.
PREVIEW : to preview content before publishing it.
 PUBLISH : to publish content on the Web.

Choice of LANGUAGE: select the language before inserting the content.
 MAILING: tool used to send a newsletter to users.


This dialog box is used
to modify
the menu structure
by adding/deleting pages.

"Delete page“ : to delete a page selected in the menu + its content +
its children.

"Add first" : to create a new page  inserted as 'child" of the selected
page / located on top.

“Add last" : to create a new page located after all other pages.
Content editing
Each page is made of components (titles, paragraphs, images…).
You may assemble these components in the content editing zone.

Click on "insert" in the content editing zone
Type your text in the grey zone
Click on “Save“
Erasing components:
Main components
Each page is a set of components
Types of components:

Title components
Title: to edit the page title which appears in the Menu. (= page label)
Subtitle: 9 different levels with own size / character style.

Textual components
Paragraph: block of text
Date: displays the date
Description: describes the page and is used for the web search engines.
Components

Links
External link: to insert links towards other websites.
Reversed link option : link automatically created if name appears in the website
Internal link: to set links towards other pages in the website.
Link to file: used to upload a file on the website
Links to pages: used to display links towards other pages.

Graphic components
Image: free image : to upload an image as it is (no size modification  fit
screen)
standard image : to upload an image whose size will be automatically
adapted to fit a width defined in the template .
STEP BY STEP
 Create a page











Enter in Edit mode (ex: http://test.adagio4.eu/edit)
Fill in a valid login and password
You find yourself in the Editing interface
In the Menu: select ‘root’ or the 'parent page' that will contain the new
'child page'.
In the "Add" field (in "Menu editor" box): introduce the name of the new
page. This name can only contain numbers, letters and the "_" character (Ex:
news_2).
Click on "Ok". The new page is created, it appears in the menu under the
selected parent page.
Select the page and start structuring it by selecting components from the
"choice of component to insert" box.
Insert your text in these components.
Regularly click on "Save“.
Click on the Preview button to have an overview of the result.
Once you're ready to publish the website, press the Publish button.
STEP BY STEP
 Erase a page

Select the page by clicking on its name in the menu.

In the "menu edition" box, click on "OK" at the right side of
the "delete page" button. The program requires a
confirmation before erasing the page.
Notice: This "erase a page" action erases the selected page
as well as its children.
