Premier Division
League leaders AFC Abercynon made the trip to Deep Duffryn to take on Mountain Ash Athletic
who took their recent 100% record off them. Goals by Chris Mitchell (2) Wes Morgan, Ashley
Willis and Tom Evans saw them return to Abercynon with the points in a 5-3 win; AFC will stay
top of the league for the festive period. Second placed Tynte Rovers stay in second spot after
beating Mountain Ash Town at the Glasbrook field, goals by hat trick hero Daniel Fraser, David
Parfit, Gavin Edwards and Mathew Richards saw a convincing win for the home side. Lamb Inn
remain in third spot after a 5-3 win over Abernant Rovers while Penywaun FC hit 10 at Gadlys
Lions A to remain in fourth place and have three games in hand on the leaders, Lee Clarke got five
of the goals with Bleddyn Richards, David Evans, Leighton Evans, Mathew Lloyd and Paul Jones
completing the scoring.
Division One
Perthcelyn United A beat AFC Abercynon at Y-Parc 6-0 to remain well ahead of the chasing pack
and with six matches remaining are 12 points ahead of second placed PT Civils whose match was
postponed. In the only other match to survive the weather Aberaman Band Club moved above
Baileys Athletic after beating them 5-3 at Treaman.
Division Two
Perthcelyn United B were the days highest scorers beating Gadlys Lions B 11-2 and have two
games in hand on the league leaders Cwmaman Institute who are ten points ahead. In the only
other game to have survived the weather in this division saw Cwmbach RS draw 1-1 with
Carnetown BGC.
Under 16s
With only one game surviving this weekend AFC Llwydcoed missed the chance to go top of this
division when they were held 3-3 at the welfare ground by Penywaun FC who remain fourth.
Under 14s
All games were postponed this weekend.

Under 12s
Only one game was played this Saturday and saw Treharris travel to Aberaman Band Club and
come away with the points in a 5-0 victory to stay in touch with the leading pair of Cwmbach
RSJSC and Penydarren BGC.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
Brian Fear
Born in Abercwmboi, 1936 he became secretary of Aberaman A.F.C in
1957 and left in 2007 serving 50 years with the club after being attached to
the club since his boyhood days when he became the Mascot of the team.
In the course of the next 4 decades since he became secretary he has served
the Welsh Football League and Football Association of Wales with
distinction. Periods as vice chairman and Chairman of the Welsh Football
League coupled with his becoming Treasurer and Vice President of football
Association of Wales secured him the great honour of being made a life
member and Vice President of the Welsh Football League culminating in
his being elected President of the Football Association of Wales in 1994 to
1997. Brian can still be seen watching games around Wales and attends the
football presentation evenings for the Aberdare League for which he also
holds the position of Vice President. Brian still lives in Abercwmboi and
travels with the Wales teams around the world representing the association
of which he still serves today.
