Dutchess Heritage Quilt Show Challenge “Campus Snaps!” Images of Dutchess Community College 60 Years Serving Our Community ‘Easy Entry’ Instructions Our Campus Snaps Challenge entry process is quick and easy! Follow these simple instructions; complete the form below and in a snap you are registered and ready to start working on your fabulous entry! In celebration of the 60th anniversary of Dutchess Community College and the 18th Scholarship Quilt Show, spanning 36 years of collaboration between the show committee and the college, the challenge theme is “Campus Snaps”. To get those creative juices flowing Jason Miller, Office of Communications and Public Relations at Dutchess Community College has provided a plethora of campus photographs, available on our webpage at www.dhquiltshow.org . You can use any of these images or visit the campus and snap your own scenic view, landscape, sculpture or facade – anything you see on campus. The photo can be a current image or one from archives. You can use the entire photo or a portion of one. Your Entry Checklist ( ) Registration deadline is Friday, September 15, 2017 – don’t miss out! Entries are limited so don’t delay. There is a limited of 3 entries per person. The exhibitor must be the creator of the entry. ( ) Include a photo of your project and a SASE business size envelope with each registration. No worries, your project doesn’t have to be finished in the photo! The picture is used for security and exhibition purposes and will be returned to you. ( ) The wall hanging size is 16” x 20”. It must be made of fabric, but can incorporate mixed media, or firmly attached embellishments. ( ) Include a copy of the photograph that inspired your entry. Don’t forget to credit the photographer! During the show, this photo will be displayed with your piece. ( ) Complete one registration form for each entry. For your convenience the form can be completed online and printed. Send the completed form with your photo and SASE business envelope to: Elaine Watkins, 274 Hooker Avenue C4, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. If you prefer to submit your registration form and photo online, you can email these materials to [email protected] . Sorry, we will still need you to send us your SASE by the deadline noted above. Getting Your Entry To Us IN PERSON: Entries will be accepted from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the home of Karen Abramson, 240 Creek Road, Poughkeepsie, NY. This is the only day for personal delivery of entries! Map options and directions are provided below. Claim checks will be provided for each entry! BY MAIL OR UPS: Items sent via USPS or UPS must be shipped to arrive no later than Wednesday, September 27, 2017. Ship to: Karen Abramson, 240 Creek Road, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. Be sure that your piece is packed appropriately in a sturdy box. Include your name and address inside the carton. For each piece sent, include instructions for return along with an address label and a check payable to Dutchess Heritage Quilt Show to cover the cost of return postage. UPS automatically insures your package for up to $100. If you require additional insurance, please arrange this with your carrier. Use of a tracking number is strongly advised. Returning Your Entry All entries will remain on display throughout the show. ITEM PICKUP: Pickup will be at Falcon Hall, Dutchess Community College (DCC) on Sunday, October 8, 2017, between 5:15 pm and 6:15 pm. Don’t forget to bring your claim check(s)! ITEMS FOR SHIPPING: All items for return shipping will be sent via agreed shipper during the week following the show. ? Questions ? Take Route 9 North to the intersection of Fulton Street. This is directly across from the main entrance to Marist College. Proceed straight to the end (Route 9G, also known as Violet Avenue). Turn left on to Violet Avenue and continue past the flashing light at the firehouse to the next traffic light. The Department of Transportation will be on your right. Turn right at this light on to Cottage Street and continue (past the DCC entrance) to the end of the street (Creek Road). Turn right on to Creek Road. The Abramson’s house is the fourth on the right, down the long driveway. From the Southeast of Poughkeepsie. Take Route 44/55 to Innis Avenue north to the last traffic light at Salt Point Turnpike. Turn left at this light and take the first right on to Little St. George. Make an immediate right on to Creek Road. Continue past DCC. Number 240 is the 4th driveway past Cottage Street. The driveway will be on your right.
