And just like that round 3 has come and gone! After a wet and soggy start to the previous round, it
was great to see the sun shining bright and early on Saturday morning.
On Monday night we attended the monthly Camden Meeting – points covered at the meeting:
•
Mentor umpires – are now able to walk with their trainee umpire and assist them with
making calls.
•
Club convenors have been asked to mix the umpires up on the younger teams, so our junior
teams don’t receive a learner umpire every week.
•
Prescription glasses – anyone who has prescription glasses for playing must submit a copy of
the medical certificate to control and the player is to keep a copy on them and supply to the
umpire when requested.
•
No sitting is allowed between the courts, this includes no kit bags.
•
Borrowed players – borrowed players must sign on at control PRIOR to taking the court and
also complete the borrowed players section on the scoresheet – failure to do so will result in
a loss of points for playing an unregistered player
MANC will be attending the Campbelltown Club Carnival on Sunday 16th July. This day is always a
great day and always well attended by MANC. The day is open to all, nettas through to seniors.

ATTENDANCE
We understand that everyone gets sick, especially coming into the colder months. However, it has
come to our attention that sometimes our coaches are being notified of their team members not
attending training / games at the eleventh hour, and sometimes not at all!
Please ensure you give your coach a minimum of 3 hours’ notice if you cannot attend training –
especially for our junior teams. Coaches will have a training plan for the training session and being
told 5 minutes prior to the commencement time or even after the commencement time means the
coach needs to adjust their training plan there and then on the spot.
Coaches will have a training plan drawn up to incorporate 8/9 in the team and time is required to
adjust.
If you are sick and have not been to school, please do not come to training / the game, as you risk
getting everyone else sick and not getting better yourself.
FACEBOOK
While we love FB and use it to communicate with our members, we don’t love hearing about
bullying and taunts occurring in group chats that originate from netball.
We do understand it can be the easiest way of communicating with your team, however we
encourage you to take your netball conversations off-line and use the old fashion text message to
communicate.
We also need you to contact your coach / team contact directly should you not be able to attend
training or a game – believe it or not things can sometimes be missed on FB!
BORROWING PLAYERS
All players who are playing in a second game are to sign on at control PRIOR to taking the court. You
must play a minimum of 5 players from your own team. Should the team be short players you can
only borrow enough players to make up 7 players.
You are unable to borrow players to have a reserve.
You can only play up 2 times, on the third time playing up you will remain in that team.
Please remember to check with the coach / team contact of the team your borrowed player comes
from. Don’t make arrangements with players directly.
We have asked Camden Association to update and publish the 2017 playing up grid urgently. This
identifies which teams you are able to contact to borrow players from.

U8 FANTALES V BENKENNIE BANDICOOTS
After being rained out last week, it was a great start to the game. We showed fantastic teamwork
throughout the game and our passes are becoming stronger and more direct. Lots of tips and
intercepts from our defence end. Great sharing of the ball between all our shooters. Best and fairest
this week was Genevieve who was always in the right place for lots of intercepts and is picking up
her positioning very fast. Well done girls and keep smiling 😊😊
U9 MANC JAFFA’S V BENKENNIE BUTTERCUPS
On Saturday 27th May, The MANC Jaffas (U9), played Benkennie Buttercups. The early start did not
deter the players with everyone in attendance for a solid warm up in light of the cool conditions. We
took to the field and immediately commenced putting into practise the skills which we have been
developing at training. The ladies continue to improve in their court awareness, ball skills and
positional play, culminating in several passing sequences, leading to scoring opportunities. It was
great to once again have terrific support from the parents. Well done to the Jaffas!!
U10B MANC JAGURS V BRINGELLY FLAMES
An extremely hard fought game by our girls this week. They fought hard and lost by only 1,
against a team who were very much more 'on the body' than you should encounter in the
U10s. We are very proud of the team for keeping their motivation for a full 60 minutes
despite the controversial game. Well done girls, looking forward to the next game.

U10C MANC WILDCATS V CRSL BUCCANEERS
Our girls came to realise that you can never underestimate the team on the bottom of the ladder!
With a few positional experiments this week to try and find the best fit for the team it did create
some early court confusion although so did having 3 players from the opposing team in the goal
circle multiple times throughout the game.
The Wildcats should be proud of their personal improvements, incredible intercepts were taking
place over the whole court.
The girls still need to work on court space and driving towards the ball.
U11A MANC SHAKERS V BENKENNIE BANGLES
We knew we had another tough game this week. After last week’s loss we were hopeful for a win.
After being up for ¾ of the game, the last quarter saw the opposition catch up and take the lead.
Despite our defence end being on fire and finally starting to ‘watch the player and not the ball’ we
found ourselves experiencing a disappointing loss by only 1 goal.
Once again, we fought hard until the last whistle went – bring on next week.
U12A MANC RAVENS V BENKENNIE BLOSSOMS
The girls took the court to a tougher opposition this week and everyone lifted to the challenge. Our
defence was superb as we blocked and intercepted passes sending the ball back up the court for the
shooters. The mid court players worked together with some amazing passes into the goal circle
using the stop and look technique! It wasn't until the last quarter that we knew we had the game
won. Great game by everyone, including the umpires.
U12C MANC FALCONS V BENKENNIE BLITZERS
We knew we were in for a tough match this week when we saw the Benkennie team towering above
us at the start, with an obvious height advantage! Each week our girls are developing their skills and
improving. We may have been beaten this week 34 to 9, but I was proud of the huge effort the girls
put in right up to the last second. Our team motto is "Never Give Up". The girls persevered and kept
trying and are starting to come together as a team. Keep up the hard work girls!

U13B VIPERS V BENKENNIE BLASTERS
Our girl’s defeated the Benkennie Blasters 57 to 12. These girls have bonded and playing as a team
over a short time. There appears to be a real enjoyment of the game, which is always inspiring to
watch. We are looking forward to the rest of the season.
JD4 MANC FERNS V BENKENNIE BOOMERS
A hard day at the courts this week for the Ferns coming up against the top team. It was hot,
and we only had 7 players (2 of them not feeling the best as it was) so it was never going to
be easy.
The girls kept fighting and our shooters got to have a go running at Centre (which they
loved.......). Need to work on stronger passing at training this week to help us against the top
teams.
DIV1 MANC MYSTICS V BRINGELLY MISFITS
No comment!!!! A week we are trying to forget!!!!
DIV4 MANC CASCADES V DPNC DEVILS
We came to the game opposing the undefeated side, all very excited and nervous.
The defences Anna, Melissa and Desma did an amazing job at keeping the opposition out of the
circle, there were even a few held balls given against Douglas Park. Some fantastic intercepts made
also.
Centre court Laura, Desma and Michelle worked so well together with great defence and attacking
strategies, enabling us to make the most of our centre passes and take the oppositions away. There
was some fantastic feeding into our circle to our amazing shooters (who took a fair belting), Kanisha
did an amazing job at holding and catching some fantastic passes only she could catch. It is amazing
how a 15 year old, can hold her ground and get all the rebounds against women beyond her years.
Jo and Laura (mother and daughter) played so well together, reading each other's play and some
fantastic shooting and team work between Jo and Kanisha.
Together we all played an amazing game, we played our own game. We deserve the win girls 39-27,
congratulations and it was such a high to play such a great game with such a great bunch of girls.

DIV5 ALPINES V RSL MIXMASTERS
With only 7 players again this week and down one shooter we knew it was going to be a tough game.
While we expected a tough game, we didn’t expect to feel like we were playing football rather than
netball. Despite some great 3 pointer goals we walked away with a loss – BTW how do we make 3
point goals a thing ;)
Special shout out to Sarah and Eden who stepped up and played ¾ of the game out of their ‘normal’
positions and did so brilliantly.
Each game we continue to improve and build on the previous week’s game.
MANC would like to thank BlueTongue Homes for their generous support for the 2017 season.
