Strong Bridges

You Task is:
To create a bridge to cover a 30cm gap
that can hold as many oranges as possible.
Your materials:
Plastic straws
A roll of tape
The rules
You bridge must:
• Cover a 30cm gap
• Be made of tape and straws only
• Be able to hold the weight of at least
one orange
• It must be free standing.
Times for the afternoon
1:00 until 1:45 – design your bridge.
1:45 until 2:30 – build your bridge.
2:30 – return to the hall to test the
bridges out in front of the school.
