This is a contest of skill. Players must be at least 21 years of age to participate in local qualifying tournaments and at the National
Horseplayers Championship in Las Vegas. Club Centaur Rewards membership required-free & available day of contest.
Registration begins Wednesday, June 21, 2017. Cost to enter is $175. All submitted registrations will be time-stamped. Pre-registration
is required (via phone, email or on-site registration at Indiana Grand). More than one paid entry per person will be accepted, to a
maximum of two (2). Registration on the day of the event will only be allowed if the maximum number of total entries (125) is not
met. Registration will close once 125 entries have registered. A waiting list will be established for overflow registrations. Payments will
be accepted by check, cash or credit card. Guests will be allowed to accompany a contestant for a $25 fee due at registration. Refunds
may not be available. The reservation will be held until 3PM the day of the event. At that time, if there is a waiting list, unpaid
reservations will be opened up to those on the waiting list.
Players must place all contest wagers personally. No person shall directly or indirectly act as an intermediary, transmitter or agent in
placing wagers for the Player, unless authorized by the local venue and for good reason shown.
Must be present to make contest wagers. Need not be present when prizes are awarded.
Employees of Centaur, Inc., including Indiana Grand Racing & Casino, Hoosier Park Racing & Casino, and/or any Indiana OTB’s, racing
vendors, its advertising agency, and members of their immediate families are ineligible to compete.
Eligibility (e.g. employment or affiliation, family relationship, past winnings) may vary between the qualifying tournaments; however,
eligibility of finalists for the National Horseplayers Championship shall be established by NTRA and shall apply to the National
Horseplayers Championship event.
Wagers are limited to $2 win and $2 place only on ONE horse per race (per paid entry).
Contestant must place a win and place wager on one horse in 12 mandatory races out of 23 available from Indiana Grand (Races 1-8),
Saratoga (Races 7-12)* and Del Mar (Races 1-9)*. The wager must be placed at a designated location. A minimum of 5 races must be
utilized per entry on races from Indiana Grand. (Indiana Grand Thoroughbred races only.) If a player misses a mandatory race, then a
zero will be credited to his or her account for that race. In the event of cancellation, select races from Golden Gate Fields fitting into
the time frame of the contest will be utilized per Indiana Grand management.
Entries and fields are considered a single wagering interest.
All players begin with an imaginary bankroll of $48. Bankrolls are mythical and may not be cashed in at the end of play.
There is a win payoff cap of 20-1 ($42.00) and a place payoff cap of 10-1 ($22).
The contestant with the highest amassed bankroll total at the end of the last specified race will be declared the winner.
In the event of a tie, the higher placing will be awarded to the contestant with the greater number of first place horses in the contest
races. If the tie still has not been broken, the higher placing will be awarded to the contestant with the highest paying win selection. If
the tie still has not been broken, the higher placing will be awarded to the contestant with the greater number of second place horses
in the contest races.
If the player has multiple entries, contestant may only qualify for one spot at the National Horseplayers Championship. Therefore, if
the contestant places twice in the top three, the next placing down will receive a berth in the National Horseplayers Championship.
All contestants are responsible for ensuring each wager is placed correctly and has been accepted. Contestants should keep all
receipts for verification. It is the contestant’s responsibility to be aware of any changes in the designated races.
If there is a scratch in a designated race, it is the player’s responsibility to change or cancel their selection prior to post time. In the
event of a late scratch that cannot be voided in time, the contestant will receive the post time favorite.
If no contest wager is made on a race in the contest, the player will amass $0 for that race.
All races wagered on are subject to change.
Affidavits will be required of all winners. Liabilities for any and all prizes are the sole responsibility of the winner.
Each contestant agrees to abide by all contest related rules and regulations, and consents to publication of their name and likeness
without further compensation.
At the conclusion of the tournament, all play will be audited to verify correct winners. Upon verification, official results will be posted
and winners advancing to the NHC in Las Vegas will be notified within one week following the scheduled contest.
The top three (3) finishers in the Indiana Grand NHC qualifier will receive a spot in the NHC Final slated for February 9-11, 2018 at
Treasure Island in Las Vegas. Any player who has already qualified twice for the final will not advance from the qualifier and the next
highest points individual will advance.
NHC Tour Points will apply per NHC rules. Must be a member of NHC to qualify for the final, obtained at: www.ntra.com/membership/
All official track rulings will apply to the horses wagered on in the tournament.
Management of Indiana Grand reserves the right to disqualify any tournament entrant who has violated any of the official rules and
regulations.
Management of Indiana Grand reserves the right to add, delete, amend, or change any portion of the tournament rules and
regulations.
Management of Indiana Grand reserves the right to cancel the tournament for any reason at any time and refund all entry fees.
Management of Indiana Grand reserves the right to interpret all questions and conditions regarding the tournament, without claim for
damages or recourse of any kind. All questions regarding the tournament, which are not specifically listed under these rules, will be
decided by Indiana Grand management. Those decisions will be final.
Venue will send a team of three qualifiers to the NHC. The three qualifiers must be in attendance at the National Horseplayers
Championship on each day of the event. If one of the top three finishers cannot attend, the next highest placing qualifier will earn a
place. Depending on a particular situation, the local venue in cooperation with the NTRA may assign an alternate qualifier. Players
agree to abide by these determinations.
Trip to Las Vegas is valid during the NHC Tournament only. Players’ inability to attend the NHC tournament will result in forfeiture of
the airfare, accommodations, and NHC entry. Airfare or other transportation to Las Vegas valid for one person. Food and other travel
expenses not included. No substitutions, assignments or transfer of prizes will be allowed.
