Curriculum Enrichment 2017
I am delighted to let you know that we will be having two curriculum collapse days here at WCSA on Monday 17 and Tuesday
18 July. During this time, Year 7 – 9 students will have the opportunity to engage in a number of different activities. Personally, I have always enjoyed these days; students tend to excel in
their chosen activity and make us proud as a school.
We have aimed to put on a variety of different activity choices –
some are free, whereas others will attract a cost. Please be
aware that costed activities may not run if there is not enough
student uptake.
All activity choices will be confirmed at the beginning of May.
Payments will be required for all activities with associated costs
by the start of June using the schools online payment system
(Parent Pay).
If you do have any questions about these two days, please do
contact me here at WCSA. I have taken a good look at the program and there is plenty of choice. We hope that students will
make the most of this opportunity and have a fantastic time.

REAL GAME
All Year 8 students will come off normal timetable and take part in
Curriculum linked fun activities on Monday 17th July.
This exciting curriculum enrichment day aims to show students how
schoolwork relates to occupational choices and therefore to lifestyle
and income. Students will take part in real game and citizenship
activities which will raise their aspirations and allow them to explore
the skills and attributes needed for a range of career pathways.
On Day 2 of the Enrichment Days (Tuesday 18th July) students will
have the opportunity to choose from a selection of onsite and offsite
activities, some of which have a cost. Please see the next page for
details.
Please note all activities on both days take place in the normal school
day unless otherwise specified.

Discover your wild side. Enjoy a guided safari tour and get
close to the animals—followed by wristband entry to the
amazing theme adventure park .
Travel to Woolacombe/Croyde for a 2 hour surf lesson
(wetsuit included) then have your lunch on the beach with
time to enjoy games and relaxation before heading home.
Visit the science centre with hundreds of hands-on exhibits
to explore.
Take a trip to see over 450 species of animals,
in a stunning garden setting.
Travel to the Urban Activity Centre for an active session
complete with trampoline arena, foam pits, dodgeball courts
and slam dunk nets. Complimented by sports fun am or pm
depending on session
Fun baking on-site. Make Lemon Scones, Lemon Curd with
a gingham fabric top and sugar craft teddy.
Become a property tycoon for the day, compete to see who
can make the most £££ and design the home of your
dreams!
Create & design your own book to read with Reception children in local primary school.
This is an opportunity to spend the day learning some new
craft skills and take home everything you make. You can
create your own ‘Book hedgehog’, make bunting for your
room, greeting cards to give to friends and stitch a key ring.
Artistic, Creative, Technical … help develop the backdrop
and scenery for an up coming school production.
