Math Correspondence Course
This Level 1 course is assigned 9.0 CEUS and consists of 10 home study lessons dealing with Addition,
Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, Area, Volume, Ratios and Metrics. The application of mathematics in:
Water Treatment, Water Distribution, Sewage collection, Sewage treatment and everyday Math. The
program provides an opportunity for the employee to upgrade his/her mathematics skills and to learn the
application of mathematics in Public Works. The enrollment fee provides the course notes, a 3 ring binder,
lesson grading, examination and postage/handling.
Water Treatment Correspondence Course
This Level 1 course is assigned 15 CEUs and consists of 15 home study lessons dealing with subjects of:
Mathematics, Chemistry, Bacteria and Algae, Your Plant, Chemical Feeders, Pumps, Alkalinity, ph Testing,
Coagulation, Flow Studies, Filters, Chlorine Testing, Corrosion Control, Disinfection and Safety. The Program is
designed to train Operators in the effective operation and maintenance of a Water Treatment Plant. The
enrollment fee provides the course notes, reference text, a 3 ring binder, lesson grading, examination and
postage/handling.
