The Pitch
Devolutia
Enter an alien world where entropy reigns and
evolution works in reverse. To combat this pervasive
decay, sentient beings collect lower life forms to
combine into a single more competitive life form. The
global economy thrives on this industry spawning a
plethora of tournaments, exotic pets, beasts of
burden, or even darker criminal aspects. Hunt exotic
lifeforms, bioengineer your beastie, raise it, train it,
mutate it, fight it.

Devolutia
A combination of Oddwold & Pokemon, Devolutia will be a
single player game that will be made with Game Maker 6 and
modeled with Anim8or. The collectable animal life will be very
basic and consist of 3 life forms from a pool of 42 basics that
can be reassembled into new forms. Mutagens and power up
vegetation can be collected and applied to give increased
abilities. A gruesome blender will be used to combine these
basic life forms.

Originality & Unique Game play:
We would prefer this to be an online multiplayer game for maximum benefit
of the game mechanic, but in order to finish this by the end of the year we
are going to have to limit it to a single player.
The 42 basic entities will be divided into 3 categories which correspond to
specific strengths such as attack, defense, and intelligence. As you wander
through the mysterious alien outback of Devolutia you will capture various
entities using different strategies as well as collect assorted berries and
fruits. In town you will attempt to locate a bio-mechanic
to assist you in combining 3 entities into one.
From a pool of 42 kinds this will
allow over 68000 combinations!
This unique blender allows for a
unique experience to personalize
your fighting monsters rather than
just the standard collecting.
The HUD will be minimal
