On 08/05/2010 Detectives and the Selective Enforcement Unit responded to the area of I75 and Cortez
Blvd to locate a wanted subject, Anthony Batta, W/M DOB 07/10/88. Upon their arrival in the area, Batta
and another wanted subject, John Canna, W/M DOB 05/20/86 were observed each driving a motorcycle.
The two were followed to the Microtel in Brooksville and taken into custody in the parking lot. It was
discovered that both motorcycles were stolen and both subjects were found to be in possession of
methamphetamine and paraphernalia. Lydia Gartner, W/F DOB 10/30/1987 was arrested for harboring
the two subjects at the hotel. All subjects were taken into custody without incident.
Batta was arrested for the following:
Grand Theft Auto, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of
Paraphernalia, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon
Hernando County Warrant for Grand Theft Auto
Hernando County Warrant for Grand Theft Auto
Canna was arrested for the following:
Grand Theft Auto, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of
Paraphernalia
