Season 2017 – 2018
Dear Supporter/Shareholder,
Season 2016-17 turned out to be one of good progress with the team finishing in 9th position in the
Vanarama National League South. Manager Gary Owers used the loan market to good effect with
Axel Andresson signed from Reading in November and Miles Welch-Hayes from Oxford at the
beginning of the year. Other loan signings included goalkeeper Max O’Leary and Shawn McCoulsky
from Bristol City, and the Pledge certainly helped in the fact that these players were able to perform
in a Bath City shirt. The Pledge raised more than £7,000 last season and this was greatly appreciated
by the Board of Directors and Gary Owers.
Gary is building a strong squad for the coming season, including the permanent signing of Miles
Welch-Hayes, and it is expected that the manager will use the loan market to good effect again during
the coming season.
It is with this in mind that the club would like to continue with the Pledge scheme. With your support
it could provide Gary with more options when looking for players to improve and maintain his squad.
Our Pledge scheme encourages all those who can, to donate £10 a month, via a monthly standing
order. You can donate more if you wish. All the money raised will again be ring fenced and be
added to the playing budget for the season 2017-18.
A monthly standing order mandate is attached and your support would be greatly appreciated. There
will be a special page in the match day programme naming all those people/companies who have
kindly contributed to the scheme, unless anonymity is requested.
Alternatively, if you would like to make a one-off contribution towards the playing budget, then
please make your cheque payable to Bath City Football Club Ltd Players Fund, and your contribution
will be added to the ring-fenced money. Your support in this scheme would be greatly appreciated as
all those within the club try to build for a better future.
