Rules
The Court





The goal line will be 1 metre forward of the wall to allow play to continue all around the
goal.
Neither players nor sticks are allowed in the semi-circle goal area.
A defender who deliberately enters the goal area will concede a penalty.
An attacking player who deliberately enters the goal area will concede a free stroke.
Where the ball comes to rest in the goal area without a goal having been scored, a free
stroke will be given to the defending team on the edge of the goal area.
The Game



The game starts with a bully off, between two players, in the middle of the court.
In the event of a goal being scored, the game will restart with a bully off in the middle of the
pitch.
All players must be in their own half of the court when the game is started or restarted
following a goal.
Playing the ball








A player must have both hands on the stick.
Both sides of the stick head may be used.
A player may shoot the ball from any position on the court.
Players may NOT raise their stick above waist height. A player who does will concede a free
stroke.
A player may NOT deliberately stop the ball with hand, foot or any other part of the body.
The ball may be passed in any direction, there is no offside.
The ball must be kept below head height.
The puck may be played of side/ end walls. In a case where there are no end walls, a free
stroke will be awarded against the team that put the ball out of play.
Obstruction


No bodily contact is permitted. A player that commits violent or serious foul play will be sent
off for the remainder of the game.
Where players are sent off for a less serious offence, they may be sent off for a limited
period of time.
Free Stroke and Penalties




Opposing players must be 2 meters away from the ball.
A goal can be scored directly from a free stroke.
Where a free stroke is awarded within 2 metres of the goal area, it will be taken from 2
meters back from the area to allow opposing team to defend.
Penalties are taken 5 metres from the goal line. Ball is deemed out of play if a goal is not
scored.
