Read the Waiver and Release of Liability, Assumption of Risk, and Indemnity form.
Sign and date the form. You must submit with your application to be considered for membership.
Read the outdoor DIVAS Cycling safety rules. Sign and date the form. You must agree to abide by
the rules and submit with your application to be considered for membership.

Membership Requirements
1. All members must be female.
2. Members must be 21 years of age or older.
3. Members must pay annual dues as defined by the Board, purchase at least one cycling jersey per year, and
complete the membership application, and sign the Waiver and Safety Rules.
4. Membership term is from January 1st to December 31st.
5. After participating in three non-member open rides, guests must become members to continue riding with the
DIVAS.
6. New members must attend one skills clinic during their first 12 months of membership, or as soon as a clinic
is made available.
7. All members must volunteer for one event from the list of events determined by the Board as a qualifying
DIVAS Cycling event.
9. Members, who are racing with ACA Cycling and wear the outdoor DIVAS Cycling kit will receive Participation
Points.
10. Members who participate in Triathlons or other events and wear the outdoor DIVAS Cycling kit will receive
Participation Points.

Outdoor DIVAS Cycling, located in Boulder, Colorado, is dedicated to supporting women who have a passion for
bicycling. The club specifically focuses on providing a social, supportive, and inspiring environment to athletic
women who are driven and have ambition to do more on their bikes. We support our fellow members with their
goals, including racing, improving cycling skills and participating in all types of cycling events. We give back to
our community and work to foster supportive relationships with other clubs and teams in the Boulder, CO area.

Release and Waiver of Liability, Assumption of Risk, and Indemnity
IN CONSIDERATION of being permitted to participate in any way in outdoor DIVAS Cycling activities, including
but not limited to bicycle rides, skills clinics and social events (collectively “Activities”), I, for myself, my personal
representatives, assigns, heirs, and next of kin:
1. ACKNOWLEDGE, agree, and represent that I understand the nature of these Activities and that I am
qualified, in good health, and in proper physical condition to participate in such activity. I further
acknowledge that many outdoor DIVAS Cycling events will be conducted over public roads and facilities
open to the public and upon which the hazards of traveling are to be expected. I further agree and
warrant that if, at any time, I believe conditions to be unsafe, I will immediately discontinue further
participation.
2. FULLY UNDERSTAND that: (a) BICYCLING INVOLVE RISKS AND DANGERS OF SERIOUS BODILY
INJURY, INCLUDING PERMANENT DISABILITY, PARALYSIS AND DEATH (“RISKS”); (b) these Risks
and dangers may be caused by my own actions, or inactions, the actions or inactions of others
participating in the activity, the condition in which the activity takes place, or THE NEGLIGENCE OF
THE “RELEASEES” NAMED BELOW; (c) there may be OTHER RISKS AND SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC
LOSSES either not known to me or not readily foreseeable at this time; and I FULLY ACCEPT AND
ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS AND ALL RESPONSIBILITY FOR LOSSES, COSTS, AND DAMAGES I
incur as a result of my participation with outdoor DIVAS Cycling.
3. HEREBY RELEASE, DISCHARGE, AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE outdoor DIVAS Cycling, their
administrators, directors, agents, officers, members, volunteers, and employees, other participants, any
sponsors, advertisers, and, if applicable, owners and lessors of premises on which the activity takes
place, (each considered one of the “RELEASEES” herein) FROM ALL LIABILITY, CLAIMS, DEMANDS,
LOSSES, OR DAMAGES ON MY ACCOUNT CAUSED OR ALLEGED TO BE CAUSED IN WHOLE OR
IN PART BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE “RELEASEES” OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING NEGLIGENT
RESCUE OPERATIONS; AND I FURTHER AGREE that if, despite this RELEASE AND WAIVER OF
LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISK, AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT I, or anyone on my behalf,
makes a claim against any of the Releasees, I WILL INDEMNIFY, SAVE, AND HOLD HARMLESS
EACH OF THE RELEASEES from any litigation expenses, attorney fees, loss, liability, damage, or cost
which any may incur as the result of such claim.
4. I agree to wear an ANSI or SNELL approved helmet when cycling and to ride in accordance with all
applicable laws.
I HAVE READ THIS AGREEMENT, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE GIVEN
UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY ACCEPTING IT, AND HAVE ACCEPTED IT FREELY AND WITHOUT ANY
INDUCEMENT OR ASSURANCE OF ANY NATURE AND INTEND IT TO BE A COMPLETE AND
UNCONDITIONAL RELEASE OF ALL LIABILITY TO THE GREATEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW AND
AGREE THAT IF ANY PORTION OF THIS AGREEMENT IS HELD TO BE INVALID THE BALANCE,
NOTWITHSTANDING, SHALL CONTINUE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT.

Club Safety Rules
The safety of all Club members is a top priority. All Club riding practices shall be in
accordance with state and local traffic laws. Riding practices required by the Club include but
are not limited to the following:













Obey all traffic laws, signs, and signals. Members shall come to a complete stop at all
red lights and stop signs.
Hard shell ANSI approved (or equivalent) cycling helmets must be worn by members
and guests on all Club rides.
Ride on the right, never ride against traffic.
Ride no more than two abreast, returning to single-file if riding two abreast would
impede the flow of traffic
On curving canyon roads without bike lanes or shoulders, play it safe and ride single
file.
Use hand signals to indicate left or right turns, slowing or stopping.
If you are not familiar with group or paceline riding, it is your responsibility to
communicate such to other Club ride attendees.
Riders should carry ID and proof of insurance with them at all times.
You may have aerobars (no Time Trial or Tri Bikes) on your bike; however using
them during a club ride is prohibited. This is for your safety as well as the safety of
those around you.
When passing other cyclists, always announce yourself before starting to pass.
Ensure that while passing you are not putting yourself or the other rider in danger.
Always pass on the left.
Members shall maintain their bicycling equipment in safe and serviceable condition.
Always ride in a safe, courteous manner which becomes outdoor DIVAS Cycling and
reflects positively on bicycling and our sponsors.
Ride leaders may, at any time, request a member or guest not participate in a Club
ride if the ride leader determines the safety of the participant, member, guest or others
may be in any jeopardy.
In signing this document, I confirm that I have read the Club’s safety rules and agree to abide
by them at all times.
