It also represents CRTs before the National Commission of Labelling. • Various missions of general interest have already been carried out by the Association Examples include: -Study on contracts (search, service, and so on) -Production of a “White Paper” in 2013 • (1) CRT : Technological Resource Center In 1996, the French Ministry of Research created a LABEL established from specifications based on a code of ethics aimed at fixing the excellence of professionalism of CRTs towards their industrial customers. The qualification of CRT / CDT is awarded for a 3-year renewable term 4 characteristics are key: 1 - provide industrial companies with customized services 2 – professionalism - especially performance, cost, timeline and confidentiality-wise 3 - services are delivered mainly to SMEs 4 - affiliation with academic research laboratories for technology transfer from research to business 1. 2. 3. 4. POSITION CRTs AT THE HEART OF NATIONAL POLICIES of overall and operational support of innovative actions in the industry of the future, through the development of the technological offering, MAINTAIN A HIGH LEVEL OF HUMAN COMPETENCE & TECHNOLOGICAL MEANS to support and train, STRENGTHEN THE FRENCH NETWORK OF CRTs and support their openings at the EUROPEAN LEVEL, VALUE THE MISSIONS OF CRTs IN TERMS OF REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT and align the specifications with the evolution of the INNOVATION ecosystem in the New Industrial France. One of our key assets is that all of the employees within our certified structures have a know-how that is based on THREE PILLARS : RESEARCH *CRT : Technological Resource Center TRAINING INDUSTRY - are privileged partners of SMEs / SMIs & Small Offices. They are one of the only TECHNOLOGY PLAYERS listening to them - are preferred partners of mid-cap & large companies by providing them with complementary services to their own internal R & D services. - are ACTIVE PLAYERS on the ground, able to bring concrete and innovative solutions to companies of any industrial sector - are part of the value chain of technological maturation and innovation by multiplying partnerships with TRIs*, CARNOT, SATT**, Clusters, Innovation agencies, incubators and so on. - are approved Crédit Impôt Recherche (CIR) skill centers There are currently 68 CRT-labeled structures *TRI = Technological Research Institute (IRT in French) **SATT = Society for Accelerating Technology Transfer CDTs also have a mission of general interest but lack analytical and technological resources. They mainly make diagnosis & provide guidance in technology development, based on the specific needs of companies. A CDT is a: • TECHNICAL LINK between the company and the competence centers (technical centers, research laboratories) • FUNCTIONAL LINK that introduces business methods and skills aimed to support technological development (marketing, strategy, project management, technology watch) • SECTOR LINK that will open the company to complementary industry sectors, •PUBLIC LINK, acting as liaison between the company and the Government There are currently 20 CDT -labeled structures • About 1,400 employees in total including : • 210 PhD holders • 450 ENGINEERS • 460 TECHNICIANS The average number of employees in a CRT is 20 : 3 PhD holders, 7 engineers, 6 technicians, 4 administrative officers *Technological Resource Centers • A cumulated annual pre-tax turnover of € 140 M with: • 10,000 contractual services (performances) • 7,000 recipient companies • 70% of contracts concluded with SMEs / SMIs *Technological Resource Centers • Means & Skills: Each CRT is committed to implementing all necessary means and skills to achieve results.
