stands for ”Association Française des Centres de Ressources Technologiques”
(ie French Association of Technological Resource Centers)
It is a non-profit association, created in 2003 on the initiative of a certain number of
CRTs (1)
•
The purpose of the association is to promote and defend the interests of CRTs,
and represent them towards public, semi-public and industrial authorities. It also
represents CRTs before the National Commission of Labelling.
•
Various missions of general interest have already been carried out by the
Association
Examples include:
-Study on contracts (search, service, and so on)
-Production of a “White Paper” in 2013
•
(1) CRT : Technological Resource Center
In 1996, the French Ministry of Research created a LABEL established
from specifications based on a code of ethics aimed at fixing the excellence
of professionalism of CRTs towards their industrial customers.
The qualification of CRT / CDT is awarded for a 3-year renewable term
4 characteristics are key:
1 - provide industrial companies with customized services
2 – professionalism - especially performance, cost, timeline and
confidentiality-wise
3 - services are delivered mainly to SMEs
4 - affiliation with academic research laboratories for technology
transfer from research to business

POSITION CRTs AT THE HEART OF NATIONAL POLICIES of
overall and operational support of innovative actions in the industry
of the future, through the development of the technological offering,
MAINTAIN A HIGH LEVEL OF HUMAN COMPETENCE &
TECHNOLOGICAL MEANS to support and train,
STRENGTHEN THE FRENCH NETWORK OF CRTs and support
their openings at the EUROPEAN LEVEL,
VALUE THE MISSIONS OF CRTs IN TERMS OF REGIONAL
DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT and align the specifications with the
evolution of the INNOVATION ecosystem in the New Industrial
France.
One of our key assets is that all of the employees within our certified structures
have a know-how that is based on THREE PILLARS :
RESEARCH
*CRT : Technological Resource Center
TRAINING
INDUSTRY
- are privileged partners of SMEs / SMIs & Small Offices. They are one
of the only TECHNOLOGY PLAYERS listening to them
- are preferred partners of mid-cap & large companies by providing
them with complementary services to their own internal R & D services.
- are ACTIVE PLAYERS on the ground, able to bring concrete and innovative
solutions to companies of any industrial sector
- are part of the value chain of technological maturation and innovation by
multiplying partnerships with TRIs*, CARNOT, SATT**, Clusters, Innovation
agencies, incubators and so on.
- are approved Crédit Impôt Recherche (CIR) skill centers
There are currently 68 CRT-labeled structures
*TRI = Technological Research Institute (IRT in French)
**SATT = Society for Accelerating Technology Transfer
CDTs also have a mission of general interest but lack analytical and
technological resources. They mainly make diagnosis & provide guidance in
technology development, based on the specific needs of companies.
A CDT is a:
• TECHNICAL LINK between the company and the competence centers
(technical centers, research laboratories)
• FUNCTIONAL LINK that introduces business methods and skills aimed to
support technological development (marketing, strategy, project management,
technology watch)
• SECTOR LINK that will open the company to complementary industry
sectors,
•PUBLIC LINK, acting as liaison between the company and the Government
There are currently 20 CDT -labeled structures
• About 1,400 employees in total including :
• 210 PhD holders
• 450 ENGINEERS
• 460 TECHNICIANS
The average number of employees in a CRT is 20 :
