Salary range on the Leadership Spine L20 to L24
Introduction
At Ysgol Eirias we are committed to maintaining the highest standards and expectations of learning,
behaviour, pastoral care and discipline. As well as deputising for the Headteacher, the successful
candidate, along with the rest of the Senior Leadership Team, will be involved in all aspects of
leading our school. However, key aspects of this role will be driving up standards in the Core, and
‘future-proofing’ the school for new curriculum, assessment and accountability measures.

Generic Duties and Responsibilities
In addition to the duties laid out in the latest edition of the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions
Document, the Deputy Headteacher will be expected to:










deputise for the Headteacher when required and to support him in his role
be a member of the Leadership Team, thus leading the monitoring, evaluation and development
of all aspects of school life
make a substantial contribution to the development and implementation of the school’s mission
work with the Headteacher and Governors to develop, implement and evaluate a strategic vision
secure the objectives of the School Improvement Plan
share general aspects of whole-school management (eg staff appointments, staff development
activities, communicating with staff and parents, organising events)
lead and secure success by ensuring the effective implementation of school policy
provide a significant presence around the school at all times throughout the day
line manage a number of departments, Year Heads and staff with whole-school responsibilities
ensure equality of opportunity throughout the school
