$800,000 for DC-5 Player
Washington, DC, May 2, 2017—With more than $800,000 in winning tickets claimed, Ibrahim Jalloh is
now the second-highest individual prize payout winner for the DC-5 game. The Lessburg, VA resident
who works in the District, purchased the 17 winning tickets—16 valued at $50,000 and one valued at
$850—from LP Mart, 4665 South Capitol Street, SW for the evening game played on April 30. The
winning number was 1-1-4-9-6.
Mr. Jalloh claimed his win late yesterday, the day before his birthday. When asked the significance of
the chosen numbers, he smiled “It’s my daughter’s birthday.” Jalloh says he doesn’t have big plans for
how to spend the money stating, “I have a house, two new cars. This will make things much easier for
us.”
This big win comes right on the heels of last week’s $550,000 prize awarded to Tolbert Strong, III of
Washington, DC who until Mr. Jalloh’s win, held the distinction of being the second-highest winner with
DC-5.
“Players are winning big with our entire line of Family of Numbers games,” says Interim Executive
Director Tracey Cohen referencing the DC-3, DC-4, and DC-5 games. Prize payouts for these games
combined have topped $45 million since January 2017, a three-year high for this same time period. DC-3
players shared a joint win of $460,000 playing 1-1-1 for the evening game played on April 21 of this year.
This was the highest payout for this since July 2015. On March 23, DC-4 players collectively won $2.4
million in prizes—the highest payout for this game since 2011. The winning number was 1-1-1-0.
The record for the highest individual payout for the DC-5 game remains at $1.1 million with 22 winning
tickets, set in March 2016.
