Over this period, there have been two constants The domination of the tournament by New Zealand, and The challenge to Argentina in a competition that comprises three of the highest four teams in the IRB rankings. In this year’s competition, there were changes. Australia headed the table, New Zealand lost one game to Australia and finished second while Argentina won a match for the second year running, beating South Africa. Despite their one defeat however, New Zealand continue to dominate the event. If the exceptional last round matches are excluded from the 6 Nations comparative figure, the Rugby Championship averaged almost the double a number of tries per game.
