Subcommittee 5 moves that Ed Hare be
appointed by the C63® Main Committee to be
Chair of Subcommittee 5 and that Steve
Whitesell be appointed to be Vice Chair, for
three year terms beginning January 1, 2017.

SC5 Scope
Subcommittee 5 is responsible for developing and
maintaining new and existing standards for immunity
testing techniques and associated instrumentation as
requested by the Main Committee ANSI ASC C63®
(no change)

Subcommittee 5 is responsible for the development,
maintenance, and revision, as appropriate, of the

currently active
C63.24 Generic In-Situ Immunity Testing

SC5 Project Status
C63.9: Immunity of Audio Office Equipment
Chair: Andy Griffin
A PINS-C was approved in May 2015 and a small
Working Group has been formed. There have been no
meetings, but a webinar meeting is being scheduled.
Mr. Griffin noted that 61000-4-3 is currently
undergoing amendment.
Additional participants are encouraged.

C63.15: Immunity Measurement of Electrical and
Electronic Equipment

At the SC5 meeting, SC5 voted that the C63.15 draft is
ready to go the Main committee for consideration for
consensus ballot.
AI: Jerry to send the finished C63.15 draft to Main
Committee members for consideration.

SC5 Project Status
C63.16: ESD Test Methodologies
Chair: Steve Whitesell
The standard was published in May 2016 and no revision is
planned at this time.
Mr. Heirman reported that new material in this document should
be submitted to the US National Committee (SC77B) to consider
presenting it to SC77B of the IEC for consideration of inclusion
in the next version of IEC 61000-4-2.

SC5 Project Status
C63.24: Generic In-Situ Immunity Testing
Chair: Don Heirman
This standard is being completed in cooperation with
the IEEE EMC Society, P473 (Site Survey) working
group. A joint webinar meeting was held in October.
Work is being done to harmonize the efforts and to
include indoor environments in the language of P473.
