FIELD DIAGRAM FOR JUNIOR A Each field is 2 tennis courts & has a goal at one end & cones to mark the goal at the other end. The two fields are separated by one length of novaflo. The 16 yard line/ATTACKING ZONE is marked by orange cones at both ends. A goal can be scored anywhere in the ATTACKING ZONE shown below - & umpires will agree to a 16 yard area at the other end prior to the start of the game. 1 FIELD DIAGRAM FOR JUNIOR B Back line GOAL Ball out over back line by attacking team = FREE HIT to defenders on 10 metre line top of attacking zone Ball out over back line by defending team = LONG CORNER to attacking team 3m from back corner. No direct shot on goal allowed, autopass allowed ATTACKING ZONE shown here in yellow area If the ball hits a player’s feet/is kicked & an advantage is gained then a FREE HIT against them is awarded. If no advantage is gained, play on. *If the ball is hitting players’ feet consistently, then explain what they are doing wrong. White tape/markings on novaflo at edge of field is ATTACKING ZONE GOALS CAN BE SCORED ANYWHERE IN THIS ZONE Halfway line – the game starts here with an autopass or pass to a teammember LEFT WING CENTRE FORWARD Encourage players to stay in position – this will hopefully stop them ‘bunching’ – if it doesn’t then separate them, award a FREE HIT & tell them to stay spread out LEFT HALF/BACK From a free hit or auto-pass, the opposition must be 3 metres or more away There is no ‘out’ along the sideline so spectators must stand back from the novaflo. If the ball is hit & it jumps over the novaflo a FREE HIT is awarded to the other team near where it went out RIGHT WING RIGHT HALF/BACK CENTRE HALF/BACK ATTACKING ZONE shown here in yellow area No goalie although players can rush back to defend GOAL If a defender infringes in ATTACKING ZONE, the attacking team takes a hit just outside the 10m zone at a point in line with the infringement. Another attacker’s stick must hit the ball before a goal is scored. 2
