Fancy Nancy, JoJo’s First Day Jitters

Summary: The story is about Fancy Nancy’s sister JoJo. She has her first day of school and she is very nervous. Her sister
(Nancy) tries to calm her and make her a little less worried by telling her about all of the fun she is going to have. They
pack their lunches and get ready for school but JoJo is still very nervous. So Nancy the best big sister ever and lends JoJo
her favorite doll. JoJo is no longer nervous and very excited for school!
This would be a great book for me to read on the first day of class to show my students that everyone gets first day
jitters!
Genre: Realistic Fiction
Robin was born in Poughkeepsie, New York, she
was one of four girls. Her first career was as a
professional ballerina, until she became injured. She
went back to school and got her B.F, A. Her first
major work was the sequel to Alexander and the
Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. She
then worked with her sister (a famous author) on
their very own book. In 2005 she began working
with Jane O’Connor and they began making the
Fancy Nancy books. She now lives in California with
her husband and children.
